So it's good that she gets a great amount of streams but I'm also happy it starts to slow down so that the record of Gaga stays safe 2

I think its time that we just all accept that TDD didnt do it that much with the GP neither the fanbase, wich was very predictable tho, it's one of the weakest songs on Mayhem imo

It's definitely one of the weakest. Them not making Garden of Eden a single is one of the biggest disappointments ever, it's one of her best songs and everyone's favorite when watching reaction videos. I think it would smash (abracadabra level) especially around this time of year. It's crazy to me the didn't make it a single, especially after seeing the success and reaction of 'reheating her own nachos' with Abracadaba lol and GOE is the other most 'reheated gaga nachos' song on the album GOE anf VIY 100% should have been singles and the dead dance could be a cute promo for Wednesday and MAYHEM but thats it

I'm bitter that it's neck and neck with DWAS in terms of streaming records, making me feel angry at Billy and hate BOAF even though it's a heckin' SMASH. BOAF makes me feel good about life, my best friends, reminds me of the nineties, helps me breathe. Damn it, the way culture pitting hit songs and women against one another smh (not that ur doing this, just general culture) it's effecting my ability to enjoy good music BOAF and DWAS really aren't competing, Billy and Gaga really aren't competing, just when we put metrics and awards on them. Ok but if they WERE competing...BOAF blows DWAS out of the water every time Abracadabra deserves the success that DWAS got Anyway, I love this stripped version It was so low on my HMHAS tier list until I saw the tour and saw the little eyelashes in GA holding hands and jumping in circles together. That was such a positive, incredibly sweet vibe that it immediately catapulted the song to my second favorite Billie track Blackout19 - "Free Woman sucks!"

They def should have pushed GoE around april-may to benefit from coachella and copacabana hype. Also, I still dont understand why the **** did they release Stupid Love as first single from chroma, like to me thats one of the worst and most generic song of the album, it kinda killed the hype at the time (bc there was a huge hype for gaga's return to pop following ASIB), and the cringe MV made it even worse. To me it was so obvious to choose Alice or Replay as first single like what were they thinking 3

Now a days in streaming era that is super tough to go anywhere as music videos and radio dont go as far as they used to and all the hype is before and during album release not after You can argue that TTD could have been a better song but I do not believe a previous single would have done any better

To me it was so obvious to choose Alice or Replay as first single like what were they thinking I think Interscope let’s Gaga have the say for the first single when they know that on the album is a strong song that will carry the album sales. They knew Rain on Me would do great. The same goes for Mayhem. They heard Abracadabra and knew it would do well, so it’s okey for them to experiment with Disease as the lead. ( even though at the time DWAS was smashing so they didn’t even need a smash song per se) The only thing I would have done differently is Joanne. She should have made Million Reasons the lead and lean into the Americana/ country vibe they had.

( even though at the time DWAS was smashing so they didn’t even need a smash song per se) I don't think disease was even an experiment. The point of disease wasn't to smash, true, but it was intended to get the fanbase back on side. People forget because of Abracadabra and Mayhem doing so well but Gaga was in such a wobbly place last year. She hadn't put out a pop album in 5 years, and Chromatica was pretty cooly received, Joker was a mega-flop, and her fans were mad about her selling makeup and releasing jazz albums and ballads and just generally being a bit distant and under-the-radar. The feeling amongst fans was positively mutinous. Releasing disease at that point in time was such a smart move because its heavy pop-industrial sound is like catnip to little monsters and it reassured us that if we just waited a little longer we'd finally get something we really wanted from Googs. A very savvy move. Edited October 27 by Eggs
