If Gaga was in this film we’d get:

“I’ve been a Smurf’s fans since I was 2”

”I channeled Smurfette. I told the director and Michael to only call me Smurfette so I could understand her complex mind.”

”The story is a creative insight into the class struggles. Smurfs are small people in a big world. It’s very complex.”

”Working with James Corden was incredible. I taught him how to sing.”

At least Gaga would be fully commited and would give us a banger song

I feel like the hate it receives half pushed me into this territory but I am an Avatar defender!!! It was and is revolutionary and I love it!!! An ORIGINAL franchise making BILLIONS!! no comics! no nostalgia!

I know. Who would wanna watch a movie about people who are different. With different personalities and a completely different look from the norm in society. I mean, imagine using that as a tool to teach kids inclusivity, community, cooperation, and perspective. I'm glad I'm not part of any marginalized community that hosts events all over the world for one month a year to stop them from being killed and fights for their rights. It's terrible. Hollywood has lost its mind.

Studios need to get back to Viri g voice actors for these roles. Watching this highly animated smurf and hearing Rihannas beautiful but very nonchalant voice is a bit distracting. Like Bey as Nala :selena:

I wonder how much of it has to do with families being unable to afford taking themselves and their children to theaters.

I mean, nobody exactly asking for a new smurfs movie is it?  :ororomunroe:

There are animations that doing well but Smurfs is not a powerhouse like trolls, minions or kungfu panda, and of course some big IPs from disney animations. Literally 4 animated movies were on top 10 of biggest grossings last year (2024)

Fair. Are we asking for any new movies from established franchises though? We're actively begging Universal to stop making Jurassic Park films lol
