Grace Randolph says Gaga tours are not on Beyoncé and Taylor Swift level

Gaga has more artistry in her pinky finger than Beyonce and Taylor combined. She doesn't take a back seat to those artists and it's disappointing to see this continuous narrative that she's somehow beneath them. One of those artists has a phobia of pen & paper and the other is a medical mystery with a brain that is stuck in high school.

Please do not compare someone who plays the piano, writes their own music, sings like a legend, dances, performs, and comes up with ideas/concepts/videos that no one else on the planet can conjure up to glorified sample collectors and embarrassing school-girl slam poets. Gaga is so uniquely Gaga and it is her talent & artistry that carries her above and beyond. Wake tf up.

In terms of stadium shows she's not wrong, Gaga's the art of personal chaos tour + chromatica ball weren't on Taylor and Beyonce's level in term of budget, production, duration and investment in general, it's just a fact

HOWEVER I feel like The Mayhem Ball in arena is totally on their level, Gaga is super invested, the show lasts 2h15 and people pay for something worth it

Gagas last 2-3 tours are more than amazing, but they are still not her best, and dont live up to her potential. While Beyonce and Taylor are giving the best shows of their life at the moment, and are exceeding their potential.

i actually think the CC tour is way below bey's standards some of the stuff like the flying car and the robot arms are giving "yes, we have BUDGET!!" and the light up dress only works well when it works well, otherwise you realise it's just a bulky light up dress...

the renaissance tour was practically perfect, her props, tech, visuals and interludes had such a refined finish to them and i think even she knew that since some of it is re-used in the CC tour

and taylor? lol...

mother, what must i do?

This tour was clearly designed for arenas, but could be easily adapted to stadiums & still sell out.

The issue is lighting. The river, the cape, it is a tour that relies on the dark.

If it had been a stadium tour, the catwalk couldve gone the full length to a B stage where the lady in red appears for million reasons... but the lighting issue remains.

Tbh I prefer a stadium because I like GA tickets but we got potentially the best tour of her career regardless.

Exactly. Gaga doesn’t need big props or flashy tech. Her shows are cinematic, theatrical and timeless. It just feels like an old-school way of doing things, but elevated.
