Grace Randolph says Gaga tours are not on Beyoncé and Taylor Swift level

Damn the comments on X will not make us look good. :laughga:

But she's full of it indeed. Mayhem ball production is more interesting than even the Renaissance tour one imo. Taylor eras we're more about budget than creativity to me.

If by level she meant budget then maybe yeah but it's not even sure.

The only thing I would 'agree' on with haters is that her shows production seem to limit her, I know she was capable of more regarding production for the Chromatica Ball and The Mayhem Ball could've been in stadiums IF they planned it earlier. The only thing that would've been different it's lighting :oprah:

I hope they ditch box stages in the future, she can do better than that. It worked for the Opera house during the promo tour but I hope they don't use that again when she moves to stadiums later in the year.

Apart from that, Taylor may have big stages but she doesn't even have stage presence to complement that level of production and Beyonce is basically recycling things from her last tour (even her stage is basically the same but in another shape). Gaga, while restrained in those aspects, offers much more

I have not seen anything about the Mayhem Ball and plan to keep it that way until my date, but I agree at least that Gaga is not harnessing her fullest potential when it comes to grandeur on her tours. She used to be on top when Arenas were the benchmark, but now you compare the sheer size of the Cowboy Carter tour to anything she has done, and I do have to agree that at least at the production level, Gaga has yet to do something of the scale. It doesn’t help that her only stadium tour was the Chromatica Ball, which I think we can all agree isn’t a good application on live entertainment in stadiums from a stage perspective.

That being said, many of Beyoncé’s and Taylor’s gimmicks in their shows are just empty in my opinion. Sure the robots are cool, but idk…Gaga’s talent and sheer command of the stage is honestly what sells her to me as a MUCH better act. Like sure, the Cowboy Carter tour can “look better and bigger”, but is that necessarily a good thing? Is it “better” in terms of energy? Idk. Beyonce has always seemed too polished to a fault for my taste. And Taylor is just not that good of a performer. So while I do agree that Gaga should be harnessing her power into greater scales, the production is not what makes a Gaga show a Gaga show, it’s -shockingly- Gaga, what makes a Gaga show a Gaga show…and no amount of production will give you that.

I'd rather watch an artist who commands the stage, sings every lyric live, and gives every ounce of energy than an artist who lets the stage production and technology do most of the work.

Gaga could've chill a lil and easily pull off Beyoncé's and Taylor's tours, but there's no way Beyonce or Taylor will ever try doing a show like Gaga's. It's just way too demanding!! :queenga:

Most pop stars nowadays lip sync 50% of their shows, it's just a fact, Taylor and Bey included!!

Depends on what metric you’re talking about. Most of the people I follow are going to see Beyonce. Some maybe Taylor. They’re just hot tickets. It has nothing against Gaga’s talent. And when you look at the stadiums Bey and Tay are doing while Gaga has committed to arenas, yea… different levels.

It’s not hard to comprehend Beyonces draw. Most people can’t understand that, but she’s got her own thing going. And clearly it’s impacting a lot of people in a way that is emotional. I’m not going to discredit the millions of Black voices that see themselves in her.

She always talking about damage controlling regarding Gaga. Lmao. Her voice and attitude is really irritating.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

They each do their own thing.

Beyoncé's current tour is sociopolitical and historical critique highlighting genres founded by Black people. Gaga's is theatrical and contemplative about her journey of self discovery. Taylor's is an introspective of her career.

The need to pit women artists against eachother like they're in a competition is annoying and unnecessary. They're all richer than just about every one of us and aren't worried about the performer using the venue after them.

Go see the show(s) you'll enjoy if you can and leave the one's you don't for the people who will. Support the artists you like. That's all there really is to it.

Not sure why she's such an OGH, The MAYHEM Ball isn't a movie and Gaga still only does 1 movie every 3 years anyway, so Grace can stfu :bye:

2,500,000 people attended Gagacabana 🇧🇷
