HBDYWM single increased possibility?

I think the song works really well to close off the show and I also feel like there might be some plans for it to be a single.

Do you guys remember the ig post from 3rd June with a camera emoji? It had a similar vibe to the aesthetic of the performance from last night.

Gypsy was clearly intended as a single at some point. She performed it on television, and the song was a highlight of the album. Apparently her sister's boyfriend made this:

it is official, just not... something that her label put out. It's official footage, put together by people close to her, just not really an official music video pushed by her label. Think of it as a "Cake Like Lady GaGa" kind of film, it comes from her, without any label support.

I think this was made by her sister's boyfriend (at the time)

I could very much see a "live from the Mayhem ball" video that uses the encore performance.

It feels perfect for a mid tour music video.

:fail: I’ve given up, and I’m fully aware I’m that terrible, ungrateful little monster, blah, blah. But let’s get real, it’s done. Pack it up, delicious.

I love what we’ve gotten, but it’s just not enough or what the album deserves. Could have been the magnum opus, will end up being a small repeak.

This. We did get a lot of promo and was fun dont get me wrong but the era felt so... short???

I was sure with a well performing album and one she was putting more energy into wed finally get more than just 3 singles in an era :(

Nah, it's just that HBDYWM is getting popular + her label is oushing it a bit, but it didn't fit at all in the Opera House storyline. So she added it as encore to please everyone.

It was already in the opera house production at Coachella in the middle of the main set. She didn’t add it to Mayhem Ball, she just moved it to encore.

I thought we would get more too, but I think in the streaming era singles have become irrelevant after album launch.

in the original setlist it felt oddly placed to me?? and it seemed to bring the energy of the show to a plateau. adding at the end with a campy wink after the credits feels like a blooper reel or BTS footage, and there's this meta quality when she says "that girl in your head aint real, how bad do you want me for real" because the stage production is technically over, but it's like she's pulling the curtain back and saying: do you still like me, wigless, in comfy clothes, as myself? idk I think it's genius

but to answer your question, I think it is already acting as an unofficial/promotional single, so I don't think there's a need for them to give it full single treatment

I mean, it gets promo on socials but there’s a large part of the GP that  isn’t on TT that could be reached if they did a radio push and made a video. It has so much more potential that could be unlocked imo

I do love the new placement and the backstage / unadorned treatment. It’s a great use of that song

Yes, because it didn't fit the story.

Fully agree, it really condenses the entire show's concept into one final moment.

Of the songs that are very obviously about her struggle with fame, I like to think HBDUWM represents that healing moment on the Chromatica Ball tour where she realised she can still do it and that the fans are still there for her not that very specific period of her
