Meanwhile Espresso and Bar Song and Beautiful Things and Lose Control and other songs are about to spend 2 years on the charts are still Top 20 or Top 30.

This is so annoying and stupid.

If streaming is the mega giant it’s supposed to be HOW can she be legit one of the top 3 biggest on Spotify and THEE biggest on YouTube and still not have a single song in the top 40? That legit makes no sense to me.

Die with a smile has been top 10 in the US for nearly a year straight. She is top 3 globally but not in the US which leans MAGA/country/hip hop as of late. Abra did really well and could resurge in October if they want it to.

. If Billboard adopted the UK chart rules we might have not had to worry about this.

Tbh personally im glad they dont do this. I get that the way UK charts do it allows more songs to make it into chart or to top the chart

But if ur manually removing points from older songs then the top 100 isnt really truly a real reflection of the top songs

Id rather fewer songs go #1 or top 10 or top 40 but know they reached those rankings for real than to have more #1s that only made it to #1 cuz an older #1 got knocked off by having points removed

To me this is kind of like messing with a weight scale so you get numbers your more satisfied with. Only problem is they are fake and not real :enigma:

Lady Gaga 2009

That chart is a flop anyway, it's mostly Morgan Wallen (who nobody gaf about) and songs from 2024 that are still charting somehow :wtfga:

Still shocking to me that this song never even got an official cover art, but a bloody remix did :air:

Billboard is a mess. It is severely outdated and the count of radio plays is a joke. It should be a separate chart, but then it would be very clear who's using payola and I guess they don't want that...

The only thing kept Abra alive was radio actually, we should be grateful :selena:

Honestly this,

I get why recurrency rules exist, but they are quite literally removing songs for the sake of appearing fresh and new, which to me makes no sense. Its like hiding rows in an excel file. The true data is being manipulated, and it makes even less sense if the purpose of billboard is to reflect which songs are the most popular... if a song has enough power to stay 1, 2 or 3 years on the chart that's only because the sales, streams and radio are still there. Billboard shouldn't interfere with that.

Its even worse because the whole hot 100 narrative that has been cultivated on stan twitter has absolutely affected negatively the way people perceive and consume music, and it turns out that narrative is sitting on a faulty chart that deliberately removes songs if they don't beat an arbitrary rule.

Abra is probably outperforming all songs from 51-100, and she just doesn't appear on the chart for no reason other than letting other songs have a spot.

And its even more ridiculous cause there ARE recurrent charts available, where all these songs continue to chart. So like, you can clearly tell the Hot100 is not accurate.

What ever happened to the Rolling Stone's charts and why are we not collectively choosing them as the next actually legit charts?
