Lorde new CD doesn't work on CD players, particularly car ones and older models with older sensors due to the design and Lorde doesn't offer any other CD options:

Surprised with how many people still got cd players in their cars actually. Lorde didn't think this through on this one.

Does anyone remember that tweet of Lorde saying she uses the headphones that an iPhone comes with so she can hear what fans who couldn't afford expensive headphones are hearing? My how times have changed. :traumatica:

CHOMP.

The bottoms in the comment section of the first one saying "buy the CD to support the artist then stream the songs" hellooo? :kry:

Don't sell a CD if it's not actually a CD? :kry:

I know EdgeLordes found the concept of transparent CD cool but the reason CDs have reflective surface is that they bounce light back, allowing the laser to read data.

When it was announced I thought it was just a plastic disc with nothing recorded. A collectible. Especially since for Solar Power there was a "music pack" with photos but no CD. Then people say it is a regular transparent CD and I was very surprised... I'm not surprised now.

Does it really not work on most CD players or does it not work on any CD players?

Exactly, because the whole point of the CD is that I actually *own* the music now and don't need to rely on streaming or having internet to listen to it. :kry:

And nowhere does it mention that it isn't playable? That's false advertising. Should be marketed as a collectible disc. As if we don't already have a culture of people buying vinyls who don't even own record players and just want to display them on their walls. Unwanted CDs are normally donated to charity, but as it's unplayable, people will literally throw them away. Even if they get a refund, that disc will undoubtedly end up chucked by someone somewhere, probably the manufacturer when no one buys them. Adding to the landfill problem tenfold with this one.
