This is her best album for me on first listen. The melodies and the production are some of my favorite stuff she's ever done! Standouts on first listen are Shapeshifter, Favourite Daughter, Broken Glass and If She Could See Me Now.

It’s… okay!! It’s cute!! I liked the beat, so… :huntyga:

Maybe I’m just outgrowing Lorde… but also this is a big improvement over SoLard Dour!!

What a mid album.

Sorry but this type of lo-Fi minimalistic alt pop is not something I can personally listen to if I’m not severely tipsy or high. It’s a snooze fest if you’re not in the right mood.

It’s the first album I hear entirely and intentionally from her, and I think she’s just a very “mystical” musician. Not your day to day pick. Just something you play in the background when you want something mellow to bring the hype down with a joint. Otherwise there’s nothing but her vocals and a synth happening. Interesting conceptually, but production wise flat and boring, this took how many years to make? I feel all songs could’ve been written and recorded within a week.

It's bad imo. I don't know why, but I didn't connect with a single song and everything sounds the same. I know many people hated Solar Power but that at least had some tracks I really liked, whereas on this album everything is meh to me. Maybe it's not for me, maybe I need more time with it.

The tracks I enjoyed more than others where What Was That, Shapeshifter, Clear Blue and Broken Glass (which kinda sounds like Britney's Shattered Glass??). But still I doubt I'll revisit this album. Songs like 'If She Could See Me Now' really sound like something she's made 20 times before. But she gave us Pure Heroine and Melodrama, those albums will forever remain impeccable.

I dream of the day we let ourselves time and few listenings before coming here and ranting an album is bad. This one is clearly not accessible on the first take. But it definately has qualities.

Incredible album. After Solar Power left me so insanely disappointed I couldn’t even listen to her music for a while.

Lorde is finally back.

Current Affairs is a CAREER HIGHLIGHT.

First listen is good. I cringed so hard hearing the dancehall sample in Current Affairs. I'm not a prude, but I hate songs that so overtly mention genitalia and f*****g etc. I feel like I can't enjoy the song or share it with anyone. I don't need to know about how tight anyone's p***y (or b***y) is in a song. lol. Ruins a perfectly good song.

I'm really into it, it's very interesting, some songs are so unique and !!!!!. Love the lyrics, feelings, stories she's telling, I'm laying feeling very introspective (lol) and playing it again :vegas: the production is kisses

I have the "I wish the songs were longer" desire but I also think it all works as it is so there it is but I still want longer lol

You dont need to know but she needs to express it and this is her art so  I don't see how it ruins anything

Have been listening to it on repeat since release and it's sooo good! Her best work since Pure Heroine, imo. And I was so ready to be disappointed because I really liked the three singles and was actively trying not to get my hopes up too high, but wow!!!

If only it were longer! But at least this way it makes for a very cohesive experience full of highlights.
