And considering Travis being a Sport player and podcaster, he is associated with alot of MAGA bros because they dominate his work space. Murakami27 4,333
Rich white people stick together, no matter their politics. She may hate Trump and not have voted for him, but she has more in common with these people than with everyday people like us. One thing unites them and it’s their wealth. There should be no illusion about this.

People who dislike Trump will continue disliking Trump after seeing the photo . This imaginary scenario where people see Taylor Swift next to a conservative guy, and automatically change their political views and go alt-right, is unexistent. The photo is there already, nobody on this side is turning conservative because of it, his ideology is not "spreading" through her, she's getting dragged by chronically online people and that's it, that's the only outcome of the situation . Nobody said it was that radical ofc but it can influence folks. Why do politicians often try to get associated with celebs if it has zero influence whatsoever? They would have stopped it a long time ago if it was fully inefficient yet they always do it whatever the political side. And above the promotion it can gives to it, that's still hypocritical to give your money to a dude fighting what you pretend to defend, even if it's just by going to his bar when you could go anywhere. A known racist dude bar seriously? Each dime can help finance an other vile communication targeting black folks so how does it match with her public stands... We all know damn well she's wrong for that. Edited Thursday at 12:07 PM by Guillaume Hamon

Oh lord here we go again, you always love to quote me and come after me for simply expressing my thoughts and my opinions. Nobody sat here and went through a full itemization around every company thriving off moral bankruptcy. This thread was calling out one celebrity associating herself with a crowd that is known to be tied to a very violent fascist regime here in the United States. I love how every person commenting about getting over it and "who cares" honestly thinks that MAGA is some happy go lucky camp group. These are people that would literally, LITERALLY, go above and beyond to ensure that anyone who isn't a straight white male Christian is further ostracized, if not worse. We are having political assassinations taking place in the name of MAGA (look up what just happened in Minnesota last week) and everyone wants to sit here and pretend that having friends or acquaintances who voted for Trump isn't that big of a deal. We have bounty hunters literally chasing down undocumented immigrants like animals pretending to be federal officers, shipping them off to God knows where and you and like 4 other people want to sit here and lecture me about these principles. What it sounds to me is ignorance is showing in full force. You all come down here and interact with them. It doesn't matter if you go to a bar with known MAGA ties peacefully and try to fit in. They will never accept anyone who isn't a white, straight, male. Some of ya'll sit here and pretend as if all of this is supposed to be normal and it's not. This a cult that wants to see people of color marginalized, LGBTQ+ people murdered and extinguished for simply existing, the gut-wrenching assault on Trans people all over the nation, hunting down Latinos and making examples out of us, but sure I'm the asshole for saying that going to a "MAGA" bar or a bar with "MAGA" ties is a problem. 3

Pursuing ethical consumption is about making sensible and a reasonable choices about where you support/shop etc and acknowledging that while we are constrained by circumstance we can still aim for the best possible. So the difference is pretty simple - there are plenty of alternative bars with alternative values and cultures. Meanwhile with supermarket grocery shopping the alternatives are harder to access. Therefore, it is far more reasonable to not support a bar which doesn't align with your values than it is to avoid shopping at Walmart when the alternative choices are either no better or less accessible.

Why would I go out of my way to not end up in a MAGA bar? 13 hours ago, Mister G said: Okay well you do that and let me know how that goes for you. Okay there are some nuances here. I COMPLETELY agree that MAGA businesses should be ignored as best as possible. However, there is also no ethical consumption under capitalism. So many companies share stakes in other evil ones that it is hard to ethically buy things. Again, I am completely against supporting MAGA businesses, but in capitalism, especially late stage capitalism, it's hard. he/him/his
