I wouldnt accept a religion thats homophobic, but I understand that not everyone is willing to deconstruct their religion, culture, and group. I wouldnt be close to them, but I will still deal with them, specially that its a fact they exist everywhere.

Agreed

And these type of absurd overreactions are what make "the left" seem repelent for so many people, and make it easier for people like Donald Trump, Bolsonaro or Milei win the elections :huntyga:. Do better.

People being dissapointed and rightfully calling out questionable social circles is not an overreaction and certainly doesn't make it easy for people like trump to win elections, hate and stupidity does.

I really don’t think she’s MAGA and people throwing that around like it’s nothing need to calm tf down.

However, she does give me MAGA apologist vibes and so does her golden retriever. Notice how it’s always liberals/progressives having to play nice with them and never the other way around? Like when’s the last time you’ve seen a MAGA person hangout at gay bar? Never because at its core MAGA is about hate. This ain’t both sides.

It does. Trump, Milei and Bolsonaro appealed to people's frustration, and their speech was basically: "If you're frustrated, I'm with you, we're the same, I'm angry too".

It's effective because IT INCLUDES a large amount of people. And all of them were able to effectively change society for the worse in their countries, through this strategy.

A political party that requires moral purity feels unwelcoming and repelent. You may argue "but people who see it that way are stupid anyways", which might be true, but you still need them to win the elections.

MOST people are unintelligent. This is true about every society you can think of. If you want to be favored by the masses, so that you can achieve power, and use it for the greater good (or at the absolute least: prevent the current world war 3), then you HAVE to consider, be welcoming of, and appeal to, the unintelligent to.

Otherwise you'll be the most virtuous loser party, that gets to watch as the winning party drives humanity into a new world war, that will result in the deaths of millions, in the worst case scenario.

Labeling a progressive woman "maga" because her boyfriend's friends voted Trump, is an overreaction, and is stupid, in my opinion. She's not endorsing their political views, she's not releasing a song with them, she's not partnering with them for any kind of business endeavour. She shared a physical space with them, because they're her boyfriend's friends :huntyga:

This type of demented rethoric is the same one that labels GaGa a "zionist", because she hasn't adressed the current war in a public manner. I saw the comments on Instagram with hundreds of upvotes claiming she doesn't care about palestinian children dying.

This is the same kind of unhinged political speculation, and it is not only stupid, but irresponsible. There is an ongoing genocide, the lives of millions globally are at risk, the enemy is not Taylor Swift or Lady GaGa. Be serious.

what you are doing is criticizing people and everything and yet still saying you’ll PROUDLY go to a bar owned by a KLANSMAN/NAZI. KNOWINGLY. You aren’t from this country. You aren’t even Black. Stay in your damn lane.

All you did was exaggerate my argument, use identity politics to shut me up, and be passive aggressive by not mentioning me.

I did not criticized anyone, and I never said ill proudly enter a MAGA bar, and I also did not bring up Klansman or Nazis.

I actually don’t but go ahead and assume you know everything about absolutely nothing like dude stfu you don’t know anything about how dangerous MAGA is but go off and drink at their bars.

This is not me making assumptions about you personally, its me making assumptions about the reality in America. If you live in America, there is no way you can avoid not entering a MAGA owned business as they are everywhere.

I dont believe Taylor herself is MAGA, but I wouldn’t expect her to care if the people she associates with are. Like others have said she’s a billionaire, she’s not going to care because it’s not something that effects her.

In general, I do kind of side eye liberals who are willing to date anyone who’s MAGA. Even if it’s not your partner, but their friends (like Travis allegedly) I would still not be ok with that. I have friends and family who are gay, so if my boyfriend became close friends with someone who’s openly homophobic, transphobic or sexist, that would make me question who they are as a person.

What you're describing is a politicians ability to capitalize on peoples stupidity to win an election and not a group of people changing their own paradigms to fit the current political climate or changing their own standards of propriety to  accommodate political adversaries. This is such an unfair burden to place on people who are currently having their right stripped away

The dems ability or inability to secure voters  cannot negate the genuine desire for solidarity, support and unity that is expected from public figures that make money off our community.

Comparing this to the "gaga zionist" accusations is an illogical comparison. Gaga not posting about a conflict that she might simply not be the most knowledgeable on is not the same thing as  taylor overtly associating with trash man that had trump on their trash podcast a few months ago and still actively cheer for his trash policies while people are being abducted off the street like trash.

Why would she want to be around these type of men anyway?? They arent her family neither is she contractually obligated to around them. At a point you've got to wonder how shes so comfortable around these types of spaces during this climate.

If this doesn't bother you, thats fine, work that out with yourself but dont dismiss other peoples genuine disapointment to what you understand it as.

sorry but if your fanbase is filled with women and lgbqt+ people, rubbing shoulders with trump supporters is not a good look

does it automatically mean she voted trump in secret and is actually right wing? no but it's certainly difficult to see a supposed powerful ally spending free time with those that hate us again and again

I absolutely couldn't stomach being around a trump supporter and if I knew a bar was owned by a racist/trumpie, no, i absolutely would not walk in lol

(i'd be going to a GAY bar where i'm much more welcome :smh:)

mother, what must i do?

You don't think it's a problem to financially and socially support people who continue to empower people like Trump?

The man who has stripped immigrants and citizens of their right to due process? Kidnapping them? Deporting them to random countries?

The man who is having detention centers erected in several states to hold thousands of immigrants?

The man who hijacked courts to strip Americans of their civil rights?

The man who just today posted a stupid ass video showing American bombers with a song about "showing up at a mosque to throw rocks", "we're gonna turn Iran into a parking lot"?

MAGAs cannot be normalized. A lot of us don't have the power or financial freedom to be as picky as we'd like when it comes to what we buy (like phones built with slave labor, for example).

Taylor Swift, the billionaire, absolutely should know better and should do better :rip: hell, she has the money to build her own freaking bar and drink there instead.
