The LA Times put out an article that is featuring the 25 best songs of 2025 so far.  Interestingly enough it doesn't feature "Abracadabra" but instead "Killah". Surprising to say the least, but happy to see the song getting some recognition. It is definitely one of the strongest songs on the album (in my opinion) . Another day, another win for Gaga. Also, we need more music with Gesaffelstein - a whole album produced by him would be ecstasy.

Just now, MACATL said:

Does it count as a “song of 2025” of its not released as a single though?

well it seems to meet the two requirements:
1. a song
2. of 2025

😅

Killah is a genuine moment of muso cool, in a way that no other track from her studio albums really approaches to my ears? Its fusion of modish references - Bowie, Prince, NIN, industrial, punk(?); its surprising left-turn; its rhythmic complexity and the subtle production flourishes; its taut but not overwrought deployment of tension and release... I'm unsurprised that music critics would like it. Not necessarily Mayhem's greatest hit but certainly the track that excites the part of me that forever longs for Gaga to throw it all in and become a 'real artist' the most.  I file it alongside her 2009 Brit Award McQueen tribute performance of Dance in the Dark as a rare glimpse of Gaga really putting her art where her mouth is, and playing in the avant with ice-cool taste and ease.

Billboard has made today another list of best songs of 2025, and Abracadabra is in it

www.billboard.com/lists/best-songs-2025-so-far/

There have been plenty of indicators in 2025’s musical trends that “recession pop” was back. But no 2025 song captured the energy of “dancing while the world burns” quite like Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” the chaotic, maximalist pop masterpiece that helped hard-launch the star’s Mayhem era. The grinding, industrial post-chorus keeps ratcheting up the sonic tension, while Gaga’s elegant vocal immediately provides relief, only to start the cycle over again from the beginning. Those nonsensical words on the single’s power-pop chorus might actually be a magic spell, considering how transfixed Little Monsters everywhere became by Gaga’s return to form with “Abracadabra.” — S.D.

Most of critics will pick a non single and less bubblegum or commercial song as a best choice off an album, this shouldn’t catch anyone by surprise as it has always been like that.
With that said, I totally understand why Killah is among the best to most of them, it’s definitely a very unique and technically well made song.
