It’s unsurprising While I heard of it, I could sense the marketing was completely off but I forgot it existed up until watching it recently. It's a fun and cute movie but it's missing *something*. It felt closer to something like Onward than it did Turning Red. The latter is such a well rounded movie I was genuinely surprised to read there was backlash to it. Elio has a nice premise and concept but the way the plot progressed just felt messy. Could have been cut down to a short 20 minute film and nothing of value would be lost. I wish movies like Soul, Luca and Red had been out in theaters because they deserved more success. Elio is fine but not as good as Elemental either.
