the fact that 99% of the fanbase was expecting DWAS not to get added is honestly a very good reminder how nearly everyone is clueless :ladyhaha:

since October i was telling everyone to brace and expect DWAS on LG7 just to get ratio'd on every single comment :air: Then in January (or december?) the announcement came and everyone made a surprised pikachu face :poot: The fact some people actually thought that a song with billions of streams would not get added to her soon to be released album is honestly wild.

The same train of thought goes for people who think a album track is coming for the singles :bye:

You’re being so ridiculously condescending here for no reason lmao. You’re not a marketing guru for realizing that she was going to put DWAS on the album and I honestly think you’re being obtuse  to what people were saying about it being on the album: people understood the rationale, they just didn’t understand the decision aesthetically. I think that, now that the album’s out, DWAS being on MAYHEM makes sense given the genre eclecticism and retro/throwback vibes, but when people were shocked about it being on the album, they were shocked *sonically* not commercially because all they had as a point of comparison were Disease and Abra.

Lmao, I'm sounding condescending to you maybe, cause you need to defend your made up points as of why DWAS "ShOuLdn'T bE oN mAyHem" :ladyhaha:

Y'all had no ideia how MAYHEM sounded, we just had 1 single at that point, not even abra was out, y'all just made scenarios in the head and are STILL defending them after all this time. Keep going diva :vegas:

It bothers me and it’s kinda shocking how underrated Don’t Call Tonight is. It’s such a chill driving car and singing along kinda song with some dope electric guitars and a cool bridge. I really don’t get the hate.

No, you are, quite literally *being* condescending by insinuating people who disagree(d) with you are “clueless.” You also clearly didn’t read my comment very closely because I neither: 1.) insinuated that anyone had a valid claim to knowing what MAYHEM sounded like before it came out (I literally said people were speculating based on what we had heard) and 2.) I literally said in my comment, which you appear not to have bothered to read closely, that MAYHEM being on the album “makes sense given the genre eclecticism and the retro/throwback vibe.” You’re fully straw manning here.

I mean, expecting a song with +3b streams not to be included on her upcoming album is being clueless, sorry. :ladyhaha: And acting surprised it happened and trying to justify why it shouldn't be there is even worse ngl.

Again, don’t think anyone was “confused” in terms of commercial rationale, they were confused in terms of what they saw as the aesthetic of the era at the time. I feel like, for someone who seems to insist everyone else who may have not fully understood the *aesthetic* context of DWAS being on the album (read: not commercial) is being clueless, you seem fairly clueless about what those conversations were even about.

That’s right, I said they were shocked *sonically* and not commercially. Your entire argument is “durrr people are dumb for not understanding the commercial rationale” and my entire argument has been, “people were surprised *aesthetically*, but understood the commercial rationale.” What you just quoted only reinforces my argument and cuts against yours lol

my entire point is that people have no right to be "shocked", it's just made up narratives in peoples heads how they "thought" the album sounded, it has no base in reality.

Forget the aesthetic part (that's nonsense anyways), they would ALWAYS add the song to the album even if it didn't fit, Interscope is not a charity organization, and that brings me to the original point of this convo, you think I'm being condescending for pointing out issues with the logic of many people and maybe my comment hits a bit close to home cause I know very well how you "hated" the addition (at least in the past), but that doesn't make what I said any less true lol
