Congratulations to Sabrina! It must be nice having a dedicated and supportive fanbase that gets you #1s. Only 14k physical sales and 6k digital sales (& millions of streams).

honestly it’s refreshing to see people support new acts coming along and just vibing with the message

It’s so stressful how everyone can crack into the top10 but Gaga :saladga: I don’t care much about charts but I feel like Gaga’s team is doing something wrong

Oh, gaga's team 100% did evertything wrong with abra.

With ANY effort we get a top 10.

Agreed! Seriously we need to be nicer to the newer acts, even if we dont listen to them. I know how hard it was being a Gaga fan and all her predecessors and their fans shading her left and right.

Gaga has NEVER been able to have 1 era where the singles were chosen correctly or released appropriately

Yet everyone else does the bare ass minimum and boom...#1

If Gaga had released Abracadabra as the lead in November leading into Halloween...SMASH #1 guaranteed seeing how viral it went

Then have Die with a Smile as 2nd single leading into February...another smash #1

Then bounce off of what people are streaming to determine 3rd single placement...its so easy I just don't understand

Then there is still Garden of Eden, Shadow of a Man, etc that are clearly strong contenders to keep the era going but for some reason the label (or herself) decided to tour and basically stop promoting the album lol and momentum is now lost...along with Abracadabra viral moment...UUUUUUUUUGGH

Exactly. But I guess Bobby was too busy securing gigs like Copacabana and theres been a lot happening this era, so I would like to blame Interscope instead. Is it still Jimmy Iovine running Insterscope over there? Regardless, Jimmy if you are reading this, you have failed us.

They didn't do the bare minimum, idk if it's bobby fault BUT they didn't even discount the damn song. :stupidoreo:

Incompetency or malice tbh.  :fatcat:

Gaga would’ve easily been top 10 in Abra’s first full week if they had dropped physicals :bradley:

why are you guys so worried about abra's chart performances when she just had 2.5 million people singing along to the song?

the song is a smash hit, the proof is in the pudding... not many can boast that the world knows their lyrics

mother, what must i do?

it's just because she's established. I don't expect huge chart results from Gaga, not that I ever cared, but it's just how it is.

Ok I think the song is cute but there’s no way it has had as much impact on the world as Abra did. Abra inspired so many viral videos, choreo tutorials, everyone was obsessed with that song, and somehow it never even cracked the top 10?  And Sabrina just grabs the #1 out of the gate. What is Gaga’s team doing wrong, or why are the charts so far removed from the actual reception of songs in the world? How has Gaga not had a solo top ten let alone a solo number one from Mayhem yet when it is completely packed with hits.

OT: um congrats Sabrina I guess

Right. And it literally charted - and is still charting - extremely well. It’s about to enter its 19th week on the Hot 100 and if it makes it to a 20th, it’ll be first “solo!1!1” song since Million Reasons to go recurrent. It’s up to #6 on Pop Radio, her highest peak since Applause in 2013 (excl. DWAS).

Spending 5 months on the Hot 100 with the 6th-most played single on US Pop Radio at 39 is amazing. Somehow her fans are always quick to remember how Stupid Love tumbled down the Chart after its first week, but won’t accept Abracadabra as a hit because its release happened to coincide with the Super Bowl?

Well, yes. The Hot 100 doesn’t make any claim to be ranking songs based “on reception.” It’s literally a snapshot of the most popular songs of any given week based on a very simple formula. Why do fans always insist artists and their teams are doing something wrong or incompetent because of a chart position? Clearly, if the actual artist and those around her who profit off the success of her work are not only unbothered - but, gasp, happy and proud - then maybe the fans should take a cue and realize it’s really not a big deal that Abracadabra peaked 3 spots away from the Top 10 because it was released in a competitive week.

Gaga, Bobby, Jimmy Iovine, Interscope, Billboard… like, why is it so easy for fans to honestly think they know more about the industry and what defines success then all of those people/entities?

right like even after btw it was still considered embarrassing to be like pop music and it’s nice to see so many people love pop and take it seriously as an art form

I heard the song yesterday for the first time and i like it, why? Because it drags men, simple as that. They are a lot of manchilds out there and finally somebody is dragging them

Quizás bastaba respirar, sólo respirar, muy lento...💙

Nobody is disputing Abra's longevity and you're right, according to TOTC we will reach 20 weeks unless something really strange happens, and we are likely to surpass even rain on me number of weeks and reach +21 weeks.

But that doesn't mean they didn't do a poor job at the start, with any degree of effort abra would be a top 5 song, or at very least a top 10.

This #13 peak doesn't reflect how big the song is and people already use that argument to bring the song down, even on this forum.
