Minnesota Democratic Assassination Shooter Have Been Captured

Vance Boelter, the suspect in the assassination and attempted assassination of two Minnesota lawmakers, is in custody according to The Associated Press.

Boelter is accused of the targeted shootings killing Democratic lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and injuring Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife early Saturday morning. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said Saturday the shootings appeared to be “politically motivated.”

Boelter, 57 years old, had worked for a security company, Praetorian Guard Security, according to a law enforcement official.

Boelter said in an undated video posted to social media that he was working for two funeral homes to pay the bills. The owner of one of the funeral homes, Metro First Call, told CNN Boelter was employed from August 2023 to February of this year, when he left voluntarily.

More than 400 tips from the public aided the search, authorities said Sunday. Investigators found a hit list of nearly 70 names in the suspect’s car, mostly naming Democrats or figures with ties to abortion rights.

David Carlson, a friend of Boelter, told CNN affiliate KARE the suspect texted his friends the morning of the shootings to warn them he was “gonna be gone for a while” and “may be dead shortly."

CNN previously reported that Boelter was an outspoken evangelical Christian who traveled to Africa, where he preached at a church on several occasions between 2021 and 2023.

Boelter said in the video that he worked in the food industry for decades but decided to quit.

A long-time friend of Boelter’s told CNN he was recently having financial problems, possibly due to his travels to Africa.

And if all else fails, they’ll just claim that the media is hiding the truth. 
 

And you know Twitter/X is promoting those conspiracy theory accounts/posts right now. I’m getting push notifications on an account I hardly use. Now think how this is shaping the opinions of an impressionable young kid who just made an account.
