Russian separatists in Transnistria simulate 'Battle for Romania'

Transnistrian separatists and Russian troops stationed illegally in Moldova simulated the "Iași–Chișinău Operation" on June 11. This took place near Tiraspol and involved military equipment, artillery, and pyrotechnics.

Moldovan authorities condemned it as a serious violation of the Security Zone's peacekeeping regulations, viewing it as a direct provocation and threat to regional stability—particularly toward Romania.

According to the authorities in Chisinau, these unilateral actions of a military nature carried out within the perimeter of the Security Zone constitute a blatant defiance of the special regime established for this area, undermining the mission of maintaining peace on the Dniester.

"The delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Unified Control Commission, through its component in the Joint Military Command, requested the deployment of military observers to the site to document the situation." a message from the Reintegration Policies Bureau states.
