It's overrated because despite being a great film Disney has hundreds of great films yet this somehow became a billion dollar franchise with stage plays etc. It's the go-to for pretty much any little girl, and it being overrated doesn't mean it's bad, it just means it is overplayed in a way that becomes overwhelming at times and that obscures other releases that are equally as good (or better).
