Hadrian 537 Posted yesterday at 07:31 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:31 AM Naurp. I was looking for a Gaga-like as well (between ARTPOP and Chromatica ) and I had higher hopes for Ava Max (I still like her, don't get me wrong), but well... nobody does it quite like Mother Monster. could we meet sometime this summer // shine on me your crimson colors // james lover lover lover lover lover lover
OliviaRodrigoStan 6,288 Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:40 AM Ava Max kind of did with "Sweet But Psycho", but she also peaked there. She successfully re-heated GaGa's nachos on that song, but it kinda ended there. HEART OF EVER-FROST

And TBH it sounded more "GaGa" than what GaGa herself was doing at the moment. High-key I was hoping for Ava to blow up so that GaGa would feel the heat, and made fun music again . Sadly Ava did not deliver after that . But GaGa still found her way back, so it was still a happy ending for me HEART OF EVER-FROST 1

RudraCNG 14,828 Posted yesterday at 11:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:35 AM (edited) Nope. And I really mean it. I tried for so many years to find someone to like as much as Gaga but she's absolutely unique. Unfortunately (again, I really mean it, bc I'd want to have more faves) there's nobody like her. Since that song is very Taylor-coded, I thought: while I love them both, Gaga can pull off Taylor, but not vice versa. Then my next thought was: can anyone do Gaga but Gaga? I thought of all the pop girls and honestly don’t think anyone else could pull off Abracadabra, for example. What do you think? Dove Cameron's most recent song French Girls is very Gaga-esque and a total bop, did not expect that. But check that one out

RochestrMonstr 3,035 Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM No and I think most people genuinely realize that especially now, but in general largely since 2015 at least If you’d asked this during ARTPOP, many people would spew all sorts of poorly aging incorrect disrespect

And these people and their fans would never admit it that they do either. But the real ones knows, we can feel the vibe. And that's fine we ought to take it as flattery instead. Who are u talking about icon? Spill the tea, i know it was a thing early in her career when all the pop girlies were dressing weird, but now i dont see anyone trying to do Gaga Edited yesterday at 01:17 PM by Rahrahbitchson Quizás bastaba respirar, sólo respirar, muy lento...💙
vmpiregrn 907 Posted yesterday at 01:27 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:27 PM (edited) Gaga wears her influences on her sleeve and I think some tracks could be done by artists in the genres she generously pulled inspo from, or by the artists themselves that were a clear influence (a good techno artist could definitely do Scheisse for example, Michael Jackson could have done Shadow of a Man, etc) but in terms of the whole package — visuals, fashion, performance art — no, I really don’t think so. Bjork is incredibly avant garde especially in her visuals but Gaga has a more glamorous approach Edited yesterday at 02:13 PM by vmpiregrn
UnnamedArtist 3,559 Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:56 PM I think many will disagree with me, but it seems to me that the ONLY one who has come close to Gaga is Rina Sawayama. If any singer deserves the title of "New Lady Gaga", it's her. She has that same craziness that Gaga had at the beginning of her career, and she's the only one who, like Gaga, can make pop music that sounds like rock. And her remix of “Free Woman” perfectly demonstrates that she can make a song with Gaga that sounds like her song and Gaga's song at the same time, something that none of the other artists Gaga has collaborated with have been able to do.
