Naurp. I was looking for a Gaga-like as well (between ARTPOP and Chromatica ) and I had higher hopes for Ava Max (I still like her, don't get me wrong), but well... nobody does it quite like Mother Monster.

No, it's very catchy. And TBH it sounded more "GaGa" than what GaGa herself was doing at the moment. 

High-key I was hoping for Ava to blow up so that GaGa would feel the heat, and made fun music again . Sadly Ava did not deliver after that .

But GaGa still found her way back, so it was still a happy ending for me

Nope. And I really mean it. I tried for so many years to find someone to like as much as Gaga but she's absolutely unique. Unfortunately (again, I really mean it, bc I'd want to have more faves) there's nobody like her.

Gaga wears her influences on her sleeve and I think some tracks could be done by artists in the genres she generously pulled inspo from, or by the artists themselves that were a clear influence (a good techno artist could definitely do Scheisse for example, Michael Jackson could have done Shadow of  a Man, etc) but in terms of the whole package — visuals, fashion, performance art — no, I really don’t think so. Bjork is incredibly avant garde especially in her visuals but Gaga has a more glamorous approach

I think many will disagree with me, but it seems to me that the ONLY one who has come close to Gaga is Rina Sawayama. If any singer deserves the title of "New Lady Gaga", it's her. She has that same craziness that Gaga had at the beginning of her career, and she's the only one who, like Gaga, can make pop music that sounds like rock. 

And her remix of “Free Woman” perfectly demonstrates that she can make a song with Gaga that sounds like her song and Gaga's song at the same time, something that none of the other artists Gaga has collaborated with have been able to do.
