lilboyblue 4,967
It's okay. Is this first single? People will probably try to latch on to this because "break up song" or whatever, but it really isn't much as a song.
Bronco 9,833
It does feel a little Good Luck Babe because of the instruments chosen. But the chorus is peak Sabrina.

TTH cover and #1 always has an effect be real, and today will be the test for Miley's numbers. When Abra lost the tth and cover we saw an effect immediately. salty like sodium 1,601
7 hours ago, lastpopicon said: Yeah, I understand why they do it but I'm not really sure if it even works, the giver had big promo efforts and didn't wield any significant chart success, (3 total weeks on the hot 100 ), let's see if Sabrina can make it work. I mean it's her third highest-charting song (good luck babe and pink pony club both stalled at #4), so it did achieve some success... but I think in Chappell's case the song wasn't that great and she already had carved a sound people liked so it was a bit random for her to follow the trend. It would be as if Gaga followed the Fame Monster with an R&B album because that was the trend at the time, no one would have wanted that I think. Also the Giver was a weird song they started selling vinyls for it in January for an August release. She performed it live way back in November or something and it was for the August release. (probably getting my dates wrong). Then they randomly pushed the release up because that was such a ridiculous wait time. So the promo cycle was a bit of a mess. They're all chasing that Shaboozey/Morgan Wallen #1 and labels are forcing this on artists I'm sure.

Again, peaks don't mean anything and that's a metric people use because it's easy to google, yes, a peak can be indicative of success but does not guarantee it. SL is a tremendous hit compared to The Giver. The melody that you choose can rescue you

Vimo 919
I LOVE the 80's synth beat, feels like an exercise cassette. The song is so Dolly coded. It's 100% a cute bop.
Pablo 7,714
It's cute but not really my favorite, like the deluxe tracks on Short n Sweet. It's like an album reject. Don't visit my profile

But my point is, they are going hard with promo, TTH (and at least 50M reach with others playlists), teasers, billboards and MV, I kinda expect a big debut and I hope is not something stupid like +8M, with the apk update it's unlikely tho.
