Celloo Deng 54,592
SPOILERS AHEAD! I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread discussing the regeneration of Ncuti Gatwa into Billie Piper already, correct me if I'm wrong. As you can tell by my avi, I'm super excited for this and can't wait to see what it's in store next. I'm an Eccleston/Tennant hoe and have admittedly dipped out of Doctor Who in recent years, returning instead to watching more of the classic eras (which I'm loving), and I adored the return of David Tennant and Catherine Tate a couple of years ago. So I suppose I'm all for the return of Rose/Bad Wolf(/something else?) for the nostalgia of the DW era that I loved the most. However I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews online which I also get, that it shouldn't have to rely on that nostalgia and instead keep moving the show forward. I'll certainly be watching. His departure seems quite a surprise, like it might have been a last minute decision and so they got Billie in. But yeah, I love RTD so I hope he isn’t going to keep using nostalgia for viewers. Nite 5,360
Whatt, is that really happening? Eccleston was my favorite doctor and I adored it (on an insane tumblr level) until Moffat took over. Then I took a break and I haven't had the chance to watch much of S15 yet because it's so annoying to find in my country. Now I'll have to take a look! I was not okay seeing Billie and Gaga are both in Wednesday S2, even if they never meet

Yes same, that's exactly how I felt, like I never thought those two would cross. I'm pretty sure my unfinished fanfictions are still out there no regrets though, the community was amazing. I'll definitely watch this. The negativity on YT is sad to see when the 9 and 10 eras were so amazing. Ugh now I can't wait to see the companion

River 114,388
@Celloo DengThe 2 seasons were hmm horrible, I didn't enjoy them at all. It's like the writers of Sony's Spider-man villains universe + the writers of Riverdale wrote these seasons. like it was totally dumb. and Ncuti overact it, it was too dramatic, like he's crying almost every episode, pleaseee The mystery around the mother ended in such a stupid way like WHO THE F*CK POINTING LIKE THAT TO A F-CKING SIGN FOR WHATEVER REASON PLEASE And this bi-regeneration nonsense is like And now like the Rani does it too, like what? is it dragon ball now that after goku is reaching a new super sayian level everybody does it as well??? out of ideas, just end the show Nice to see Billie, but too little too late So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
ROHKEUS 675
I’m not against the idea tbh, I think it can be interesting. But given that bigeneration was so recent, and all throwbacks to RTD1 and classic villains (all of them so badly adapted) it feels too desperate. Though it seems is desperate times for the show, so I hope it really pays off. I hated when 13th regeneration happened, but I think it payed off, it actually made sense for what he was doing with the Doctor-Donna arc. But in the end a supervillain, the biggest threat blablabla was defeated by a silly game and the bigeneration didn’t bring anything interesting. Then at the end of each season (that had some really good episodes) again, classic villain, big, enormous, universe and reality shredding threat, defeated by some silly gimmick. I won’t give up on DW, I’ll always be there for the show, bc it has always been there for me throughout very hard times. But I hope BBC considers changing the dynamic of the writing. RTD bets on the past got older than the things that he tried to bring back. She’s a great actress, if they explain it like the TARDIS did this to their regeneration bc of their channeling it to her core, so it gave the face of who looked to her core that time. I think she could address this and the necessity of letting go of the past even if it hurts and it’s so palpable. So she can run away from her past and from herself but in the end, she needs to address all she been through, all that she is, to keep going. Idk. In love with chaos depressed by fate.
