Forget the charts, even if the song debuts in Bubbling Under and it's a complete flop: it would be a fun moment in pop culture. A lot of duets collabs feel forced, and you can easily tell it was a label decision (Iggy/Britney, Shakira/Rihanna, Nicki/Cardi, etc). But this one simply makes sense, musically and conceptually wise. I'm not even a Taylor Swift fan, but she just fits the song, and it would be the biggest pop collab... of the decade I think. Tbh I think it would be a disaster…bc let’s face it Gaga will sing circles around Taylor (ns) and it’ll sound awkward to hear the difference. I doubt Taylor would even want to draw a comparison like that

And I see MJ in everything lmao It's more of just "generic" (not insulting) graveyard decor. Like she raided a Spirit Halloween for the set and it works in favor of Zombieboy's campy performances. 3 hours ago, Franch Toast said: Signed, someone who was alive during the 1980s and had an older sister very into synth pop who made me many mixtapes and who watched the “Thriller” video when it debuted and was terrified. Jealous though But yes, we all jokingly call it "the Taylor Swift song" 'cause it's the most generic (a little insulting) sounding song on the album. It's not something Taylor invented nor is the sound known as her sound outside of stan circles I still maintain Taylor has no music identity. She just does pop. And she didn't invent body suits! And Britney was performing in circus coats years before Taylor learned that pop was more profitable than country 💔thought we'd last a lifetime when I'm mumbling alone💔 2

JoanneMonster 8,950
It may surprise you, but even if hbduwm sounds like taylor… I HIGHLY doubt that gaga took inspiration from her. she just created a catchy little pop song that ended up sounding like something ts would do. But your point only would stand still, under the premise of her thinking of herself as a horrible singer, which I don't think she does . And I also don't think she would turn down the chance to collab with an artist that she clearly respects and admires, just because she'll be disfavorably judged on her vocal performance. That's how stans think of her, not how she thinks about herself, lol. I'm sure Taylor Swift is aware of the "beautiful gowns" memes, and knows the "pop singers vs divas" videos on YouTube, etc. I just don't think she gives too much credit to that narrative. Not to the point of rejecting a GaGa collab at least. Do I believe this collab WILL happen? no, I don't think it will, for schedulling issues. But that won't be because Taylor is afraid of comparisions, I don't think she cares, lol. HEART OF EVER-FROST
MadArchitect 865
No, and if it is directly inspired by her, it's in the form of parody, Gaga adopted a character for this song and you cal tell, and it's not nessesarily just Taylor, people like Carly Rae jepsen or Ellie Guilding souns like tthis too, this is just a satire of that 2010's girlie pop
ALGAYDO 31,925
The way that Swifties somehow convinced some of yall that bubblegum 80’s pop was somehow Taylor’s creation… education is so important

There would be no Lady Gaga without Taylor Swift. I'm sure we can all agree that MJ is the most influential, hands down. Not Taylor. Taylor may have more modern day commercial success but MJ changed pop with the Moondance, the iconic vocalizations, the synths and messages, Quincy Jones, and the crotch grab. Taylor is an incredibly poetic and powerful songwriter but MJ is the true performer. I say this as a casual fan who has seen Eras and was a late bloomer Swiftie in 2022. I don't know how to describe Disney adults without being offensive or getting banned, but there seems to be a neurodivergent component to them, and the way in which they fixate on the brand. We're talking about socially awkward, peculiar people. Taylor Swift's demographic is the average straight girl. Not even "basic white girl" because she's huge in Latin America too, my cousin is obsessed with her, and she's not white. The kind of girl who likes rom-coms, wants to get married, watches makeup tutorials on youtube for looks they'll never recreate, has a pinterest board full of aesthetics they'll never pursue, etc. They really aren't the same demographic, IMO . Now, if you mean they are similar in attitude... IDK, maybe? I'm not that deep into Taylor's fandom TBH HEART OF EVER-FROST
