And on the wider thread topic - I felt a bit iffy about where the racialisation was at first.

But like - these noise complaints for theaters sharing walls are according to her own words pretty common. 

Now I love Lupone's diva strops and I can't think of even 1 prior time she's singled out an actress and/or production for a noise complaint.

If its so common, I have to stop and ask - why has the diva to end all divas never gone on similar public rants prior and why has she singled out this specific actress.

Like this is the woman who tore up her union card, its not like she's ever held her punches with the theatre community.

As always, Bronco is the voice of reason and has the best brain of us all. However, perhaps she does this all the time but just never got called out for it before, that's also possible, although I doubt it. As you said, she's always been outspoken, the idea she'd always do this discreetly in the past without any noise is highly implausible.

Anyway, she has apologised and coopted everything in the open letter admitting she messed up, so I guess it's case closed now!

To be fair, the last time that Patti was in a play was back in either 2012 or 2013. She did Company forever. She has also not performed in the Booth Theatre since the 90s. (All per her list of credits on Wikipedia.)
