nATAH 47,458
i mean i'm a big hater of taylor but calling these rerecordings a scam is a reach she offered an album, fans bought the album knowing what it was, she was smart enough to use her giant fanbase to get what she openly wanted in the first place however, ditching Rep is a bit of a cop out for the fans who have supported all these projects and were excited to see it until the end... not sure why it's so difficult for her to just get it done and dusted mother, what must i do?
AyeshaErotica 1,657
Am I the only who thaught after reading the topic title , she bought a master's degree, the follow-up of a bachelor's degree? I'm looking gorgeous tonight
MonSwiftAnton 3,734
I’m so happy for her! An artist deserves to own their work. But honestly, Reputation is what made me a die hard Swiftie, and now, after everything you’re just moving on from it? I blame myself for once again getting to caught up in these pop stars, watching award shows and grainy live streams for nothing. Or you know what? I blame her too. She knows how we’ve been craving Rep TV. She should work harder. edit: im drunk and emotional Edited May 30 by MonSwiftAnton 2 1

Regardless, really happy for Taylor. Yes, she's insufferable, but damn - girl sets her mind to something and gets it done. And now to have ALL of this content completely under her sole ownership...the worth of it will only grow further and further with time. And good for her for making this endeavor or own her own stuff so public. I don't think the GP has been aware that our favorite artists rarely own their own material until she started this project. Hopefully it will make change happen. 1

Yeah, I thought it has become a normal thing that rich people buy a master's degree in America and that buying it is just a more direct way than outsourcing it to a ghost writer, which would include Taylow now I'm looking gorgeous tonight

I don’t mean even just about her, you do it in so many threads with so many subjects. It gets exhausting.
Future Lovers 6,752
3 minutes ago, nATAH said: how would that not have been an issue for her previous rerecordings though? Because there are a lot of collaborators on Rep who only worked with her on Rep. We also know why Max Martin wouldn’t have been involved in it which likely hurt it as well. I really will never understand this cognitive dissonance of people who have decided to hate her for no real reason. Things that are the truth suddenly become a “narrative” the second her name is involved. If Gaga was the one doing this, no one on here would be questioning it.

I think she spent a LOT of money on 1989 knowing that she would get a return. Doing the same for puta which doesn't have the same massive GP following would have been more of a gamble. Also I don't think there are any feat artists on 1989. (yes, I am insinuating ed sheeran/future/and or their teams may be a huge part of holding the re-recording back) and i also think it was smart of her to hold debut and puta back. the company holding the masters probably saw the asset rapidly declining in value and gave her a deal to get everything back before she re-recorded/re-released more, which would further drive their asset down in value. In retrospect, it makes her giving Handmaid's Tale LWYMMD TV look like a very calculated move. Edited May 30 by jimmytimestep
