When my boyfriend and I first got together, we were so broke and lived in this shitty apartment in a bad part of town. It was the middle of a heat wave and our gross apartment would get so hot that we'd go driving around at night for fun (and to cool down after we'd... ) and he'd always play Currents by Tame Impala since it was the only CD that worked in his car.

We'd just drive around aimlessly for hours with the windows down, and I'd be feeling my music video oats staring out at the hazy city lights and feeling like we were the last people on earth. We had so much going on in our lives but in those moments it was just the two of us and the music. 

Now any time I hear those songs I get transported to that place instantly, and I think about what it felt like to have absolutely nothing but be so happy and in love that I didn't care. To me that record feels like a summer that is never going to end.
