I liked her early on, but now it feels like Billie stole her nachos and she was left nacho-less.  

Also, of all the 2010s indie pop girls, Lana was criticized the most yet outclassed and artistically outlived everybody else..

Isk if im overthinking it but I think this album may be her unwinding a lot of the trauma or weird adult relationships she had being in the limelight. She speaks a lot about her youth and given it so another and idk if im  crazy but it feels like shes alluding to inappropriate adult relationships.

This. PH and Melodrama were perfect then Solar Power happened which is okay I’ll let it slip but this new era doesnt excite me at all. And her being close friends with Charli and Troye kinda turned me off ngl, not because I hate them but they clearly influence her sound

it's emotive and intimate. this is absolutely *not* cursive singing lmao that's more like ingrid michaelson. lorde sings more akin to a way bjork does (though not as broadly as I think her range isn't as big) which is a little more of a poetry performance type of sing speaking. It's not going to be for everyone especially on a forum for a pop star who sings like she's in a traditional broadway show at any opportunity hahahaha It's a very opposite approach, really, but that doesn't mean we need to take a poo on it just bc it isnt our thing

she dated someone 17 years older than her for many years so it's a lot of that. her rollingstone article kind of details she was always bringing older figures around her to make "god" so i think she's unpacking a lot of that need to do that on this album
