27monster27 12,691
Welcome back to my occasional Appreciation Threads for albums. Today I bring to you the banger of an album that is Believe Me Now? by Becky Hill. I first heard Swim on a radio station back in January/February and I fell in love with the song. I had meant to listen to the album and I finally got around to it yesterday. I think it is an amazing album. The vocals>, the production, the lyrics, etc. I really enjoy it very much. Here are my top five songs in order of when they appear on the album (this was NOT easy): Darkest Hour (this house vibe>>>>): Never Be Alone: Swim (the production is bliss): Lonely Again (idk if the lyrics are meant to be shady or not but either way I love it lol): Disconnect (the experimentation>>>> it feels like R&B, then EDM, the british garage/drum and bass, then going back and forth): There are other great songs like Keep Holding On (which I wish was longer), Right Here (great fun pop vibe), and the bonus track Indestructible (finally another hard EDM song in the 2020s>>>>). Yeah, this is a great album that deserved waaaay more attention in 2024. I'm thankfully that I got to hear Swim in the US earlier this year. he/him/his
Karl 3,336
I really liked Disconnect, but I can't get into the generic edm sound she does on a lot of her tracks. But I appreciate shes trying to be that unashamed club girl TBF, the UK eats her up.
