Flareon Voyager 378
43 minutes ago, Gorehound said: Maybe so, but you also can't vilify an entire generation of Harry Potter fans and tell them to abandon it just because it's creator has unsavoury beliefs. You went from “separating art from the artist” when Rowling is known to have stolen the Potter idea… to blaming us for vilifying others… as if we are the problem now. People really need to stop justifying their defense of Potter by saying everyone against Rowling is vilifying an entire generation of people. Like no, that’s not happening. Yes there are people that are extremely upset and will misdirect their anger to people, but they certainly are not the majority. The fact that Pappa has been welcomed with a wave a racism after being casted as Snape and yet most of the conversation continues to make excuses for Rowling… why can’t we go after the racists and real troublemakers? 2

REALITY 76,270
I used to be a big Potterhead when I was younger, but I've since moved on from the franchise. The cast looks good, but I don't understand why they're rebooting it. I mean, I do cause they want that $$$, but creatively, I think it'd be more interesting to follow a new group of students. Hogwarts is filled with so much potential, and the world is so intricate and interesting that it seems lazy to just reboot the franchise. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎 1

monketsharona 80,348
I feel like this show will be a HUGE tank. It's a reject in a big part of the Potter community. And the controversies around Rowling won't help. Mark my words, they won't make the seven seasons, or they will cut some budget during the run. I thought the world building in Hogwarts Legacy, for instance, was really great. Why not create new stories in the same universe?

It’s ridiculous that they’re remaking a story when the original didn’t even conclude 15 years ago. This is remake-mania at its worst, and it deserves to fail. 2. JK is awful Hope it flops

I think a direct sequel, with new young people, set literally in 2025 would catch imagination. Rowling may control the IP though and could be intentionally restricting any such stories to be created, which would be a shame.
