Taylor Swift has chance to buy her master recordings

Taylor Swift may still have a chance to reclaim that master recordings that were snatched away from her years ago.

The 35-year-old singer–songwriter — recently debuted a rerecorded version of one of her Reputation songs on The Handmaid's Tale — has been engaged in a campaign to rerecord her first six albums and release them as deluxe 'Taylor's Version' editions with a wealth of bonus material.

But now the current owner of her masters is interested in selling the recordings, according to Page Six.
Ironically, one figure that has allegedly been pushing for the deal behind the scenes is music mogul Scooter Braun.

I understand why they want to sell them, once the re-recordings are all finished they have much lower value and revenue streams

If she did buy them back it'll be in 1 of 2 ways.

After all the TVs are out and she's cratered the value of the original masters - and ironically her owning them again would boost their values via streaming as fans would go back to tracks like Style & Better than Revenge. 

Or buy them in advance with a stipulation in the deal that it can't be made public knowledge until after the remaining TVs are released

And they want to sell them for more than they bought it. The original sale was of 300 million.

But realistically i don't think it's possible because i can't see scooter/BMR giving away the royalties of the albums and that's the clause that taylor was very specific about when they tried to sell them back in 2020.

She should buy them back under a strong NDA and never talk about it again because she kinda profited and achieved new highs through the re-recordings, buying her masters back kinda mean the re-recordings were pointless

They sold the masters, Shamrock Capital owns them.

She had the money but she didn't want them to earn any money from those versions.
