Of course it “counts.” Non-competitive refers to things like Lifetime Achievement awards - how in the world is this non-competitive? Primetime Emmys might be the most prestigious but that’s an entirely different and irrelevant matter.

Because it’s given by a separate sister branch of the Television Academy. Dont get me wrong, I count it in my books! But I read conflicting opinions. Same case as the Children’s and Family Emmys. Those are often not listed as counting for EGOT. Or how Honorary Awards are also dismissed…
 

But honestly, if Viola Davis is an EGOT and her Grammy is for Best Audio Book, then this Emmy counts lol.

The conflicting opinions you hear are from pressed fan bases whose faves will never touch gold in any category, let alone winning a emmy, a grammy and a oscar.
