lastpopicon 37,528
I always liked Biden, compared to what's sitting on the WH house currently, he was a saint and a sage lol Hopefully he can beat this horrible disease and spend his remaining years in peace. Israel has support from like 65-75% of the nation. Being pro-Palestine is not supported by the majority of any party. Not too mention he supported peace and de-escalation. Meanwhile the alternative has given Israel the greenlight to utterly destroy them and relocate them to Libya so he can build a resort. LaLa 19,927
I lost my dad to cancer a few years ago, it sucks so damn much, I wouldn't wish it on anyone (okay that's not true, I actually have a long list of people I would wish it on, but Biden isn't one of them ) Hope his treatment isn't too hard on him, and he and his family feel loved and supported

Now PartySick I love you do not get it twisted but it was discovered recently that he and the entire democrat party lied about trying to get a ceasefire. They willingly allowed in all capacity the deaths of tens of thousands (likely a low ball). The only reason it wasn't posted here is because of the moratorium on threads about the conflict in Israel and Palestine. He has done good things and NO ONE should take that away! But genocide is inexcusable regardless of what he does. 5 hours ago, LordByron28 said: No elected American president would have had a better policy. Israel has support from like 65-75% of the nation. But genocide is inexcusable regardless of what he does. Sure, the Biden administration pumped millions of US tax dollars into building up and modernizing Palestine just to willingly blow it all up. And I suppose the attempt at investigating whether Israel was using US arms that were meant for defense as offensive weapons, Biden personally attempting to pause weapon shipments to Israel, and nearly all national campaigns shifting dramatically to "Palestinians are suffering, we have to stop the war and help Palestine get on the path to sovereignty" were all clever shows put on 'cause their real goal was killing Gazans... Also, Democratic* party. "Democrat party" is demeaning MAGA lingo. I'm not getting into a debate about it again after banging my own head against the same brick wall since Hamas' attack but Biden 100% did not support a genocide and it's incredibly weird to hold him personally accountable when he was actually one of the few mainstream Democrats to legitimize and recognize pro-Palestinian protesters. Even at the DNC, no less. Half a million Americans and ~7 million Jews live in Israel. Leaving them defenseless was never an option no matter who is sitting in the white house. But because Biden didn't go full anti-Israel, the left let Trump win (5 MILLION former Biden voters did not vote Harris, citing Palestine as their reason) and now Gazans are being displaced en mass, the West Bank has been invaded, and more people are being killed than any point during the Biden administration. None of this matters though. You think what you want about the last administration, I'll do the same. I'm pretty sure we can all agree on the important stuff (f*ck Israel, f*ck Hamas, Palestine belongs to the Palestinians and they deserve freedom and safety, etc). Victim blame? It wasn’t Palestinians calling him Genocide Joe. I’ve been in support of better treatment to the Palestinians and finding a peaceful resolution for over a decade. However, we weren’t going to solve it this election cycle and that was abundantly clear. There has been plenty of information that came out that Elon amongst other social media companies were boosting pro-Palestine and creating an echo chamber to deter Biden support. Don’t you find it suspicious that all the Pro-Palestine social media and physical protests died out significantly when the new POTUS administration stated things such as wanting to turn the area into glass from bombings, building resorts there, or the current discussion being moving all Palestinians to Libya? Biden and his admin never stated nor wanted genocide towards the Palestinians.

Biden and his admin never stated nor wanted genocide towards the Palestinians. I think it's important to recognize and understand that someone can have all the best intentions in the world, but their real life decisions, public statements, endorsements, and actions can have consequences that affect people's material lives (to put it mildly). And people have any every right to criticize those decisions as this is a mainstay of a healthy democracy. The argument about whether Biden was malicious or intended to support a genocide is a moot one, because regardless of whatever may be in his heart, his relentless funding of Israel despite intelligence stating that the state was in some cases misusing those weapons and/or not being targeted enough by modern standards, confirmed U.S. aid being systematically blocked from civilians, global condemnation of the country's practices including a public issuance from the United Nations, and leaders of the far-right Netanyahu government explicitly tweeting racist & genocidal remarks against Palestinian children amid the war, is absolutely a valid cause of concern for the American voter. I could go on, but one could argue that even if a voter were to give the Biden administration the benefit of the doubt, the untempered and unwavering support of Israel has quite literally devastated Palestine despite the U.S. being able to negotiate strict terms & conditions for funding (the administration made a choice not to for the majority of the war and only attempted stipulations after change in public opinion polling). No president is all good or all bad-- they are all forced to make difficult decisions. But blaming 5 million voters for not wanting to endorse the above is a crisis of democracy, whereby we guilt-trip people into making choices they don't genuinely want to make. Of course the opposite (Trump) is way worse given who he is, but make no mistake that support of Israel is universal in American politics (across both democrats and republicans for decades, despite their doings in Gaza & West Bank) and $ used to support these activities, however indirectly, would (and is) causing massive loss. The Democratic party needs to acknowledge these logical inconsistencies; this is what is fundamentally turning voters away, and they need to do a better job of either 1. explaining their decisions or 2. rallying support/standing by their choices. And the choices have been questionable at best. Also, when we say things like "it wasn't Palestinians who called him Genocide Joe"... please understand that Arab Americans drastically moved away from the Democrats in 2024. Let's interrogate why instead of blaming voters.
