This is reading like a hit piece directly from Resorts World. That hotel has A LOT of financial and business issues especially at the executive level. They just had to pay a $10.5 million fine for anti-money laundering violations amongst other issues like high vacancy rates and issues with their booking and comp programs. Idk how any of that would involve Katy and a residency that ended 2 years ago. 

Like many brands and companies, it seems they are jumping on a hate train to place blame for PR purposes which is sad and weird. Vegas has enough issues right now considering the economy and their issue securing talent, like the whole Beyonce and Sphere debacle. Now with the report Kelly Clarkson is struggling to sell night 1 for her residency, it's not looking good for the city. Thank god her and Gaga are out of there for now.

Its just that they over estimated her demand and payed her too much. Im sure theres residencies that make less sales but are still considered successful and profitable because they didnt overpay

 

900K is a lot to commit to each show if they dont end up having killer demand

Yeah for the career point she was in $900k is a wild offer tbh. I imagine they were thinking she’d have a come back ala Gaga
