This is changing how shows are made too, they chase trends and viral moments. It’s lost its magic. If I ever do shows, I’d hate to see a sea of phones pointing at me. It feels aggressive. People are going crazy with all this recording it's really so annoying. Artists work hard to put on a show, Isn’t that disrespectful? I know concerts are live events designed for audience interaction... but there’s a difference between being part of the moment and trying to capture it all on camera.

the price you pay for a concert ticket is for a live experience of a show, that is what your paying for, you are not paying to buy the copyrights of the content that gets you to do whatever you feel like it nor is there any agreement that says thats what your paying for. This is almost like saying if u go to a movie theater you should be allowed to record the entire movie.

 

if they wanna ban phone use to reduce online leaks as much as possible, I think that is a totally reasonable take tbh

I say ban them. Sorry not sorry.  The concert experience has become intolerable, and I REALLY feel sorry for the artists themselves who hardly get the audience feedback anymore that they feed off of.

I mean i know leaks will get out no matter what. But im just saying, in principal, as far as the argument that u have the right cuz u payed, ur only buying the live experience not copyrights. So i dont think its like so unfathomable that they dont want recordings

Perfect put. These idiots are leaving $$ on the table. All of us would pay for a flash drive of our own show delivered to us after the event for the memories.
