Someone posted this article in another forum, and I think it is an important read. Essentially, despite being a major NATO ally the UK makes up a very tiny number of US imports. In fact, the UK being a major ally and this "deal" not being able to do much for the stock market is deeply concerning. Plus, the people in the Trump administration that helped to put together this deal are lying about what will not be tarrifed. For example, planes and their parts will still be tarrifed despite statements made by the Trump administration. Also, the "deal" put forward has been very vague on what it actually plans to do. As the article says, the effects of the "deal" are microscopic. Regardless of what Trump does to save face, the stock market will still be worse off than prior to his presidency.

I still have PTSD from the hell of NAFTA "renegotiation" we had to go thru in Trumps first term and after all that stress and uncertainty they left 98% exactly the same, tweeked a couple details and it somehow went from "worst deal ever to best deal ever" tho I guess Trump hates it again 

 

The biggest loss was changing a great sounding name of "NAFTA" to "USMCA". Trump said "it has a nice ring to it". 

 

Sorry but NAFTA sounded way better just like Gulf of Mexico sounded better than Gulf of America. Going by what he considers nice names I guess he had already been friends with Elon longer than I thought

Yeah they never touted any substance in it on either side. It was essentially two people who are down bad needing to bring something to their people in order to edge off economic collapse. It was all just to bring reassurance to the economy.
