No Dancers? No Problem.

Okay, someone has to say it: I absolutely loved seeing Gaga a t the YouTube Brandcast without any dancers, just her and the band. It felt intimate, and so uniquely her. Watching her like that made me realize something: I think I’d actually prefer her shows without any dancers at all. Just her voice, her energy, her artistry filling the space. I think back to the days of Mark Kanemura, when the dancers were almost like characters in her story. They added to the narrative, they weren’t just background performers.  Don’t get me wrong, I know the dancers are talented, and they add to the spectacle. But sometimes, the show can overshadow the artist. And this proves that Gaga doesn’t need any of it. She’s a force of nature on her own. Every movement, every note, every glance when it’s just her, it’s magic. I know some might disagree, craving the elaborate choreography. But for me, there’s something so powerful about seeing an artist stripped down to their essence. I really hope she keeps exploring this path, just her and the music. That’s more than enough.

I love dancers and I never want them to go away permanently. Getting performances like this is good for variety. She was on FIREEEEE yesterday. Like my god. She was ready for that one. I wish we had a professional recording

I love it both ways, but I agree that Gaga is a very compelling performer even without the dancers and full choreo and I love seeing her in this context

I always find it awkward when artists perform pop songs without any dancers. Even Gaga, even if we all know she doesn't need dancers to captivate an audience, it just feels empty and cheap without dancers

We expect a sensory explosion every time we attend a concert, especially if it's Gaga. But do we need a multimedia spectacle or a performance that touches our souls? Maybe in a world so saturated with images and sounds, the real revolution is returning to the essentials.

Yeah that's what she does when she performs ballads or accoustic versions of her songs with just piano + voice

I would agree if she was out there with a headmic doing the choreo by herself but she had a handheld mic and was just kinda vibing for most of it apart from a few moments like the Abracadabra cane dance.

It feels more rockstar coded than pop and honestly I kinda like that more  

Buuuut the big productions with 20 people on stage are great too. She excels at them both

I love more stripped back Performances like these especially when they’re pop. This is what I thought I’d look like pulling off late night bedroom performances. Also love the bigger productions but I do have to say that I tend to remember the more stripped back concerts I attended more because I was able to focus on the artist themselves without too much going on. We need official videos from this Brandcast performance. How can someone like YouTube gatekeep THIS??

Honestly, this inspires me more than the big productions. As an artist, I always think big, but that often means becoming dependent.. and the audience starts expecting more extravagance, more movement. But I actually liked this version more than the Coachella one. It inspired me more, it gave me something special that I can’t quite explain. It genuinely made me empathize and connect with her more. I just wish I had been there. But that’s just my opinion.

I would like gaga even if she was performing in a cardboard box, but no, a show with dancers is a million times better.

yesterday was cute and fun but if she had dancers during abracadabra the performance would have been elevated. Even if she doesnt need dancers, they add a lot to a pop show. Without them, the stage feels empty. 

I agree that not every song needs it and that she can fill up the stage by herself (ballads, rock like perfect celebrity…) but catchy pop songs like abracadabra when the whole message is to dance… can use some dancers.

I hope that on tour she will use the hand mic more like in these performances. I think she should use it in the ballads and in vanish into you and how bad do you want me, which don't have the choreography

I would be here for some songs performed without dancers, besides the obvious acoustic performances. Paparazzi at Coachella was beautiful with just Gaga, songs like Enigma, LoveDrug, Electric Chapel, HMH (not that I think she'll perform them at the tour, besides maybe Lovedrug) don't need choreo. VIY also had no dancers at Coachella and I think it should stay like that.

I also think PF and Disease would slay on tour if performed like she did last night.
