In addition to chatting with Fallon for the first time ever, the “Blinding Lights” singer will also perform. As evidenced by next week marking the first time he’s done an interview of the sort in his decade-plus career, Tesfaye has largely steered clear of the late-night scene. The Weeknd and Abel seem very different from each other these days. That's why the idol was so unconvincing, he was trying to play some evil character when in reality he's just a chill and naturally shy cinema nerd who happens to have a talent for making music. He's even said that one reason he's ending The Weeknd as a project is cuz those topics feel fake to him now since he basically just spends most of his time alone in the studio.
