After Hours, Late Night Feelings & Anti were both commercially successful and critically acclaimed records. So dare I say the issue might have been the pop girlies? 
 

Seriously tho, Gaga said she was in a bad place mentally when creating Joanne. I’d pretty confidently say it’s her weakest record, and the reason is completely because you can tell it was strategically curated instead of being creatively made, can’t blame anyone involved, it was what Gaga wanted to make.
And Dua „flopped“, because RO was basically a second FN with a few more ballads, it was impeccably made and I think in parts it’s stronger than FN, but the world didn’t really want and ask for FN2. Especially after the FN era was milked for over 2 years… for all it was worth and Dance The Night was being quite the success. 

Kevin deserves not the slightest bit of blame. Rihanna & The Weeknd achieved greatness with him on their career highs when their creativity was at its peak, and I believe Ariana is at such a point as well.  I‘m so interested in where she‘s heading!
