Having Rihanna on their roster gives their company prestige, same for Britney. Even if they release nothing ever again, it's good for their business.

Rihanna autoplays after my queued music almost every day, but I tend to skip it. I think people are overestimating how much people actually actively listen to Rihanna.

I mean what are they going to do to her? Force her to release bad music that she doesn't want to sing/record? Rihanna is a billionnaire at this stage... ROC Nation have no power over her and probably just feel grateful that she recorded enough hits to keep the lights on with residuals, royalties, TV/film soundtrack deals and sampling.

If I were her, honestly I would just surprise release it on a random Wednesday. No announcement, no post. The album would just appear on streaming platforms. She would break the internet.

Anti kind of did that and hope R9 lives up to that. It was a complete departure from all of the pop stuff she had been doing for years yet it was massive because it’s her. BBHMM, Work, Needed Me, Love On The Brain, Desperado are some of her best songs ever.
