Yeah this is the main thing that stands out to me that makes her 'lighthearted' response seem in extremely bad taste but i haven't seen anyone mention it :air:

to be fair, gaga also made a joke out of her r kelly collab in SNL but it didn't seem like it was in bad taste. katy's is a different level of 'not reading the room' but i applaud her for her bravery in reading and interacting with The Onion.

It's a step in the right direction, being vigilant and vocal about the evils we see. You can stand on the sidelines and do nothing, but don't shame people who are actually out there trying to make the world a "better place" by calling out things that should be called out.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

That response arguably makes the situation worse as she doesn't acknowledge any of the real issues which were mentioned. She should've just ignored it so no attention was drawn to it at all. I don't know if her label advises her on these decisions or she just does them herself. I ask myself the same thing in regards to if working with Luke was her choice or if Capitol all but forced her to do it and she's under too much control to say no. But if she ever works with him again after how much it damaged her reputation this album cycle, it'll be hard not to believe that she's totally compliant. And that Capitol is equally as tone deaf.

I mean…even if Katy does acknowledge her mistakes and releases an official apology. People are still going to be upset. Some damages can’t be undone.

Nothing is going to be achieve. Just let it go. ARTPOP was a decade ago :interestinga:

What exactly did Katy do that was considered so evil? And why aren’t others being held accountable for doing the same thing? It just feels like there’s a double standard here.

my feelings have nothing to do with ARTPOP lol, I was actually pretty excited for her comeback

so no, I won't let it go... she's behaved in ways I'm firmly against repeatedly and deserves to reap what she sows

she's commenting on a post that is a parody of her writing an empowerment song for women highlighting it's with dr. Luke and her response is that the only thing wrong about it is that she would never leave her botox that long :air: aka everything stands correct apart from the picture

That’s the point of the joke and that’s what makes it funny :ladyhaha:

Are you kidding me? Everything Gaga said and did involving R Kelly was disgusting and in bad taste. She verbally defended that man on record. Katy at least has never gone that far with Luke. Gaga defended a man who was found guilty and is currently in prison. Big difference.
