Sweden is the third biggest music export in the world and most rock bands that are big in the US are Swedish, same goes for ton of mainstream artists like Avicii, Abba, Zara Larsson, Tove Lo etc.

So when was the last time a foreign artist/band had a no1 in the USA. How many weren't hip hop and country and last time it rock? Yes it is surprising and honestly you're being very obnoxious. I may be on obnoxious and I don't really care. Everyone always gives credit to the US when it comes to culture and music when the majority of songs that are charting aren't even written by Americans. So no its not surprising that a Swedish musical act charts in the US. Sweden is the country that literally writes the majority of all charting pop and rock songs.

How many weren't hip hop and country and last time it rock? Last Number 1 album before Ghost by/feat a non-American - Party Next Door & Drake on March 1st 2025. Last number 1 album by a foreign act which wasn't any genre you mentioned - Stray Kids December 28th 2024. Last number 1 album by a foreign rock act - Coldplay October 19th 2024. Last number 1 single by a foreign rock act - Too Sweet by Hozier April 27th 2024. As for metal specifically, no metal act has ever had a number 1 single in the US - foreign or US born. And the last rock song before Hozier's indie rock hit to go Number 1 was How You Remind Me by Nickleback in 2001.
