Lets not forget this woman used to promote everywhere, live TV performances of her singles (that were all different), while having interviews all day wearing multiple looks throughout the day, planning music videos all at the same time. It wouldn't be crazy for her to be planning the arena tour right now, although I expect the overall theme and maybe interludes of the show to be the same. I'm hoping for an extra song or two, just so the start isn't so front-loaded in terms of fan favourites and then nothing for the rest of the show, and I'm certain there'll be a change or two, but otherwise this really is the perfect show. It doesn't look like there will be enough room for the Poker Face dance battle, for example (which is scaring me because I HAVE to see that live). (For example, I need her to get out of the damn sandbox for perfect celebrity. A song like that deserves more energy than her lying motionless in the dirt.) I don’t think a motionless performance does Perfect Celebrity justice, nor does it maximize my ability to be engaged with the song’s energy as a concert attendee. Sonically, Perfect Celebrity makes me want to headbang and go crazy, but it feels awkward to do that when there are no dancers on stage and the artist themselves is lying almost motionless in a sandbox that 90% of the crowd can’t even see without looking at the screens. Sometimes defying expectations creates something exciting, and sometimes it just ends up leaving people disappointed. I’m not excited by the Coachella arrangement of Perfect Celebrity, nor am I so far up Gaga’s butt that I think she is above constructive criticism. skaxboy 5,619 Posted April 28 Share Posted April 28 We got the Monster Ball 2.0 just three weeks after MB 1.0 ended. Plenty of similarities in terms of set list stayed but it’s a different show. I saw we will get some of the iconic parts of the current show but some new pieces too. The pillar sculptures can stay. I feel the Bloody Mary/Abra/Judas intro is pretty perfect. Disease and Paparazzi can stay. Poker Face is great but idk if we will get that many dancers for the tour. I expect new costumes and maybe new performances for Garden of Eden, HBDYWM, and hopefully Zombieboy. And even some ARTPOP and Chromatica songs. Alejandra 26 Posted April 28 Share Posted April 28 (edited) I am obsessed with what she did at Coachella, so if she does this for the full Mayhem Ball tour I won’t be disappointed, I totally want to see this in person….BUT I do wish she didn’t kick off the stage set/performance theming at Coachella so there would be some large elements of surprise for the tour. The same fans tuning into Coachella will also be going to the tour, so I do kinda wish Coachella was something really different (performances, outfits, etc). but we just don’t know yet for sure!
