Yeah. They were literally calling it a 2 party election on the pannel. 

 

Though it usually always kinda is a 2 party race between Liberals and Conservatives... the NDP usually win enough seats to still hold influence in Government (i mean they literally kept Trudeau in Power thru coalition deal and some say thats why Liberals went more left)

 

Its crazy how far the NDP have collapsed. They literally just showed NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh loosing in his own riding

Well, at least it looks like the Liberals are pulling out a win. Not a landslide, but a win is a win. Regardless, at least all of Canada seems to hate Trump so thats a plus lol. (Not the I support the Conservative Party in anyway.)

Yeah. It seems Canada gave a hard no to Left parties this election. Left Wing NDP getting destroyed and Far Left Green party doing even worse with only 1 seat so far

 

On the bright side the Far Right Racists PPC have won 0 seats so far 

 

Guess Canadians are feeling highly centrist this cycle.

IDEK how Jagmeet lasted this long, an NDP change of leadership has been long-overdue.

This election echoed an American-style election because of its interference. Voters were fixated on two giant parties. Even Quebecois voted for the Libs, which was not in my Bingo card tonight

I am at least thrilled that the far right pary is getting destroyed in the election. That is something good to see. At least we aren't (knock on wood) seeing a move further to the right here. It's an improvement, but there needs to be more.

Jagmeet needs to go Im sorry. He sounds very uninspiring when he speaks. He does have progressive policies but he has 0 skills in moving anybody

 

I do wonder if some ppl have my reservations too though. Normally id be very pro left wing economics but given current circumstances (competing with an economy that has gone bananas in cutting corporate and business taxes). It does put Canada in an awkard position where if we try to raise taxes on rich and Corporations we may loose even more investment to the US

 

Its not ideal but thats the situation the US created. If more ppl have my concerns thats not helping the NDP either and its well known Canada has been having a major investment problem

Also in Ontario (which is a very heavy weight in Elections as we are 1/3 of Canada) the Liberals are not doing as well as expected especially in Toronto suburbs. The votes have been very innefficient

 

Seems the Liberals are winning heavily in Toronto but then the Conservatives winning by a small margin in all the suburbs

 

It was largely expected at least some of the Toronto suburbs would go Red (in Canada Red is Liberal) but instead they are all blue (Conservative)

 

My city is going Conservative and im shocked. Were a city saturated with low middle class and even poverty in much of the city yet its going conservative

Same thing happened here. Lower income voters shifted to Republicans.

I doubt the NDP could solve the current Trade Situation.  After the previous Election, I grew weary of the NDP and I do think this is a reality check for them.

Regarding liberals, Carney has experience in a Fiscal capacity, so at least that's promising.  

However, based on our current economic situation, we will further stagnate. Regardless of which government wins. Unless we get a fruitful trade deal with Europe, SoKor, Japan and SEASIA

My city is a really really really unsual city tho. A city of 800K (largest Toronto suburb)

 

It is nearly 70% brown population (Predominantly Indian but a lot of Trinny, Bangladesh and Pakistan as well). And the remaining 30% are black and white with most of them being Jamaican, Portuguese and Italian

 

The poor part of the city is ironically the white part of the city (with soem black population) which is the old part of the city where Canadians already lived but it was a small simple city. As the city grew, the more affluent parts of the city with bigger middle class homes were inhabited by the Indian immigrants that moved in with careers vs old white poor Canadians & Europeans that already lived there

 

Yet in recent years we started having poor Indian population in the old part as well. A different cohort i think. The affluent Indians were the older immigrants that worked super hard to start a life here and managed to establish themselves. Some worked to death other had prestigeous careers like Doctors and engineer careers while newer immigrants came and fell into poverty cuz housing made it impossible for new commers after 2015 to have any chance at success

 

Its not a typical Canadian or North American city at all. The usual racial social class sterotypes do not apply here. Interesting to see how the city would vote. And so far it voted conservative

Wed still stagnate regardless. Supply chains take years to evolve and the US is too much of our trade to change quickly
