Marry The Night 2. Born This Way 3. Scheiße 4. The Edge of Glory OMG! Our girl was right again!!! She was on to something but realistically if the era went like she wanted it would go like this: 1. Born This Way (February 2011) - LBR, this was the PERFECT lead single! 2. Marry The Night (May 2011) - to think she wanted this as the 1st/2nd single, breaks my heart! Would have been a hit with the GP, especially after the controversial lead single. Imagine the video with Judas’s budget… - Scheisse ( Promotional single + Album Release) - this would make a great promo/ hype single for the album! But I still don’t think her label would let her release this officially… 3. The Edge of Glory (August 2011)- Imagine it’s the the height of summer and she releases THIS as the 3rd single! And a magical performance to boot at the VMA’s !!! Adele who? Katy who? Lana who? AND the video…Obviously the MV would be different with this release strategy. After that, release Judas, You And I, HML, etc in whatever order tbh. But the singles run of BTW- MTN- TEOG would have been EPIC!

I’ll b honest, Judas always rubbed me the wrong way. The release was so cynical and so try hard coming from Gaga. Like I get it, her team wanted a BR- level SMAYUSH (+ controversy)! But I hated that it replaced MTN, and any other track that would have been better as a 2nd single. It’s like they got cold feet after BTW and decided to release something more familiar “Gaga/ TFM”. And the results was a very rushed era. I think it’s a good single choice, but NOT as a 2nd single! 7 hours ago, Gorehound said: 4. You And I was also a great choice as a single and pandered very well to the GP. The video is great to. Another great song, but realistically it halted the era worldwide! Sure, it pandered to some people but I would say only a small group and wasn’t really popular. I would keep that as a promo/ radio single in the US and Canada. I think her team was aiming for an Adele- style SMAYUSH ( just like they did with Judas / BR 2.0). But at this point GP was confused and Gaga was overexposed. Her Gaga persona was floundering also and you can see that in the “U&I” video. Hodgepodge and overstuffed. I love this song but as a single was a very bad idea.
