Although her previous Coachella show wasn't quite like the Joanne Tour (keep in mind that the 2017 Coachella was in April and the first date of the tour was in August), I think now she will keep the same show — it has a lot of production and a storyline that's too big to be just for Coachella.

It will surely be at least 30-40 minutes longer. There are sections of the show that feel like they could have more songs added:

-Before Garden of Eden
-After Alejandro
-Before HBDUWM
-After Shallow

I guess we’ll find out with the first Mayhem Ball date in Las Vegas! (I’m not sure whether to consider the Mexico dates as the start of the Mayhem Ball)

Wait, you just made me realize I’m going to see one of the first shows!

I had my doubts at first, now I think the mayhem ball is going to be its own thing. I do hope she reuses most of the setlist (the fan favorites from act 1) and the live strings and the choir. But she’s got like 2 months from the last stadium tour to the beginning of the mayhem ball to rehearse/create a new show and maybe even film a music video.

+ It wouldn’t make sense to not make the coachella-like shows part of the mayhem ball if they were going to be the same. She specifically named the shows in australia “mayhem ball”, if she were to do the same as in coachella she would have named them “mayhem down under” or something like that. So I think the Coachella kind of shows will end in singapore.

I think it will be different but in the same vain as Coachella.

I would say that they’re different because of the way they have been branding them and the posters and layouts and such but I’m not sure of exactly how different she would do it with what we got at a Coachella (which was great; imo only missing songs from other albums)

also, I don’t know if she would really take acts from Coachella and mix them with something different. I feel like either it will be the same (adapted to arenas) or completely different

I understand that LMs who buy tickets for the Mayhem Ball expect something new and unseen, but on the other hand, Gaga and her team have put so much effort, thought, creativity, and money into this performance that it would be completely reasonable, rational, and, above all, in line with sustainable principles, for her to maintain what we saw in Coachella for future shows. I wouldn't hold it against her if she only made minor tweaks or changes to adjust it further to her needs and any fresh ideas. We probably can't even imagine how much of her life energy and time she's invested in this. :firega::pawsup:

at first i was almost certain the tour will be an extended version of the show with more material and fan faves, but the thing that’s weird to me is that my Mayhem Ball ticket says the show starts at 8pm. so that means the opener will hit the stage at 8 and she probably will come on at 9, and MSG has a strict 11pm curfew so she can’t really do anything else.

unless there’s no opener like the Chromatica Ball and she comes onstage around 8:30 and plays for 2 1/2 hours.

I KNEW it. I KNEW Laura Palmer would have been a little monster.

TO answer the overall question... I believe they said at some point that the festival shows were part of the tour? For the JWT, the Coachella performance was a much cheaper production primarily with screens, and she also reused some of those elements in the JWT, and probably added a few more things to make it a bigger budget production.

Here the Coachella show already feels like it was big budget. She might add a few more variations to the sets and the setlist, but I don't think anyone should expect it to be dramatically different.

I hope it's different enough... who wants to see the whole show live streamed 6 months before they see it in person :neyde:

I mean surely it's not great if it's the same considering there will be overlap between the people who see both shows

The stage almost has to better be different because an arena tour will have a lot more capabilities for the stage, moving parts, etc.

Ok phew was worried basic ass stage

A lot of elements from Coachella will probably be re-used but I would imagine some elements will be different but not a ton - a lot of time and money went into Coachella and there’s not a lot of time left before the tour starts to really change things up.

She’s definitely bringing this show on the road, there’s no way she isn’t. I can see new outfits, and more songs added, though.

I think coachella will be the blueprint for the tour, but it will be altered.

I want to see how she expands the setlist for Rio (or if it's the same show), that will give us an idea of what other material she's willing to sing for the themes she's been playing with.

I do expect the staging to be modified for the arena, and she'll probably switch outfits. But some of the stage elements, the opening dress, that i expect to be reused.
