Considering how much replay value something like Mario Kart has, to me, the price is worth it knowing I'll get years out of it. I'm more hesitant about the price of games knowing they don't have much replay value.

Definitely going to wait about a year or so when there are more games. $80 for Mario Kart is absolutely not ok lol.

I’m gonna try my best to get the Mario Kart bundle. I had to wait about a year for a PS5 so hopefully that’s not the case for this.

I would consider it if it sticks around, but Nintendo said the bundle is only gonna be present for a limited time. Switch 2 will probably be difficult to find this year, and idk about going through the rigmarole of navigating preorders or checking a bunch of stores, especially when the Switch 2 exclusive game library is so limited for the near future.

The latest thing I heard, posted by nintedeal,  said stocks are safe for USA.  GameStop will have like 100 per store nationwide which is pretty cool imho. Compare that to back when PS5 released, there were only 2 consoles max in inventory of their shops.

meanwhile, it's the game cartridge & accessories that's gonna be limited. But imho, 3rd party accessories are usually better anyway, and personally, I can live off new Mario Kart game til more games come out, so game shortage is a small issues.

Yeah, if something like RpG or action games it will be an issue cos after you completed it, the fun part is just gone. And it will collect dust after.

Would be ok with the price for something like mario kart, pokemon, splatoon, or animal Crossings that will continuously going to be fun to play even after the main story part is completed.

I will say, even as an artist and as someone who knows how difficult as all hell 3d work is, I cannot at how expensive games have gotten, or maybe they seem even more expensive since I generally get games extremely cheap in the online store when they have their monthly sales :ladyhaha: like jesus, 80e for a game, thats almost 3 DS games or 3 games on sale.

I agree stock shouldn’t be a problem for the Switch 2. If Nintendo is smart, they shipped a ton of consoles long ago and they are collecting dust at a warehouse until june. The best way to fight scalpers is to have sufficient supply so your customers don’t have to go to eBay for an overpriced system, which Nintendo seems really concerned about.

And that’s why I think they didn’t raise prices for the console initially. They probably have enough stock in the States already for the early adopters, and they are hoping for a resolution as far as the tariffs go. Or at least that’s what this all looks like to me.

the way it's cheaper to buy the switch 2 with mario kart than it is to buy them separately

The price for the console is not too bad. But if they start charging $80 for their first party titles you can already predict the Switch 2 isn’t going to match the first generation’s success.

I’ll be an early adopter myself, but I’ll definitely be more selective with the games and accessories I buy.

Yeah. I don't think this will go down like the Wii U, but I don't see it being as successful as the first Switch.
