Katy sells dollar store quality doll for $175

Honestly, even with this being weird and cheaply made, some doll collectors will still be into it, at least for the novelty and completion of their celebriy doll collections (thinking specifically of those cavemen-looking Brooke Shields dolls lol). Incredibly overpriced though - should be like, $35 at most (even that would be too pricey). She should've had these produced for her Play residency as that would've been cute with the theme.

The doll retailed for $29.99 and a portion of proceeds went to BTW foundation. She indeed did sell out.  and is currently extremely sought after by collectors and selling on the second hand market for $300+ on average. doll included a SECOND outfit and doll stand.

This reminds me, according to Barbie collector gossip, Gaga's rumored to have a Barbie in the pipeline, but now I'm kind of sad because Mattel fired their doll designer, Bill Greening, who made really beautiful dolls (Gaga deserves to have a quality doll). Now after seeing the Bratz instagram account post Coachella versions of her in Bratz form, I kind of wish they went with Bratz.

I have the  Zomby Gaga doll and keep it in its case. I tend to display it in my living room with my Halloween decorations. 
 

I don’t like how the Katy Doll graphics are so big that you can’t see much of the doll in the box. If it’s $175, I would assume the collectors don’t wanna take it out of the box. And why this outfit? I thought the mushroom look was the key outfit.

would have been very smart of them to sell these at the residency - would've been a great souvenir. and should've been priced NO more than $50. and they could've sold them on the online store as well. 

nothing about this doll says "deluxe" or "I am worth over $100". it purely is for novelty only.

 

I really hope the Gaga x Barbie rumors are true - I'd love Mattel to give us a Lady Gaga doll that accurately captures her likeness- a bratz would be cool too.

I will never forgive gaga for fcking up the release of those MGA dolls..

yeah that doll inside her box just looks laughable. looks so cheap and knock off. you cant even see the top of her head.  the window is way too small. and it saying "Katy Doll" feels like something a knock off doll would say since they wouldn't be able to use her full name if it was an unofficial non licensed doll. .....but this is suppose to be an official doll so its just so bizarre and hysterical LOL "Katy Doll" just feels bare minimum so generic cheap UGH

Nobody is mocking her for having a doll, it's the fact that It's 175 for something of that quality, if you are going to release a collector doll I would expect higher quality than something you can buy at the dollar store, you can even see how cheap the fabric is from the photo, I wouldn't defend Gaga if she did that either.

For example you can get nice Barbies or even special ones like the Stevie Nicks Barbie for that price or less... I guess Katy couldn't get Mattel to partner with her lmao.

Not a doll, but doesnt Gaga sell cheao merch for double or triple the price? and almost all celebrities used to sell these cheap dolls for expensive. I never bought any merch in my life, so I dont know, its just what I hear from everyone.
