I’m of two minds about the Katy Perry hate:

it feels a lot and potentially sexist motivated

but then I also remember that even among popstars she’s the most outwardly a shill for billionaires and in many ways kind of indicative of someone enormously out of touch. 

idk I’m not focusing my energy on throwing hate bc I got stuff to do so no judge but it’s an interesting tension

Because Katy has been friends with Kesha since 2007, and even "supported" her during the trial with Luke. So Katy running back to work with him the second the lawsuit was settled was probably seen as a major slight in Kesha's eyes. Especially when Katy's A&R has been publicly calling Kesha a liar.

She temporarily stopped working with Dr. Luke and shouted Kesha out during the Witness live stream, saying she loved her (3:03)

But reading the court deposition, Katy said she only actually stopped working with Luke because she was scared she would get hate for associating with him during the trial.
