It's weird that she didn't invite Max Martin to produce in the rerecordings, but it seems that he will be part of this

To be fair, all sources point to him charging extortionate fees for production work. It makes sense that she may have thought that whilst it may be worth paying him for new work, it's probably not worth it when paying him to replicate existing work, when she can pay someone else a much more reasonable fee for the same job.

Whilst there are a few examples of re-recordings that people didn't like (Style and New Romantics come to mind) most of the others seem to have been pretty universally embraced, so it seems she was right.

This is probably a lie. He just produced a song for an almost unknown band, he also produced Conan Gray's last album so his fees can't be that high.

not saying shes horrible, she's not, she makes perfectly okay pop music but it does feel a bit like quantity over quality. i am so glad gaga only has 7 albums bc the space between shows how she DEVELOPS and GROWS between album cycles... i dont really get that from taylor swift

im a free b*tch baby (he/she/they)

After all she's done and achieved, you'd really think she'd want to take a break, she can afford to. I partly think it's because she's 35, which is apparently her "scary age" as she said in her documentary that most female artists have to work themselves to death only to be thrown in the trash as soon as they hit 35. So now she's at that age, she feels like she has to do another big push to get her over this scary age and will be a good omen going into the next stage of her career. Like, if she can be successful at 35, she can continue to do it every year after that, basically. I just wish she would get one big honest to God flop to make her realise that it's time to take a break and recharge, that she pushed the public's patience with her constant presence too long.

For those of us who actually enjoy her music, this is exciting. I don't see why people are so desperate for her to stop releasing music when so many people enjoy it (statistically, more than just about any other artist on Earth right now). If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

I don't see this kind of irrational anger being directed towards the other artists that people hate. All I see on here is people losing their minds over Teddy Swims, Morgan Wallen and all the other male artists who are dominating the charts right now, yet not once have I seen someone calling for them to stop releasing music.

If Gaga was releasing a new album every year and a half, this fanbase would go crazy. I don't see why it's so hard to have that empathy for people who do enjoy Taylor's music and realise that it's incredibly odd to be the first ones to comment about someone you apparently don't care for.

For a lot of us, her music is forced on us, even if we aren't seeking it out. And she dominates the charts to the point where it stops other artists getting rightful spots for weeks, maybe even months. If she was releasing at the same time as Gaga, she wouldn't stand a chance of being talked about more, Taylor overthrows anyone who's having a moment. When TTPD was released, it was all the industry talked about for months, it's so tiresome that every 2 years or so, we're subjected to this oversaturation of her and that doesn't even include the re-releases. Most artists who are dominating the charts right now are totally avoidable, Taylor isn't. I have no problem with artists releasing frequently if it's not an EVENT every time. But it seems like we never get a break from Taylor, whether it's music, performances, tours, love life speculation, we're always hearing something about her. She is an omnipresent force in the music industry and this naturally leads to a massive resentment towards her in the long run. And it's entirely natural to complain about something you're always being subjected to against your will.

All of you complaining and saying "give it a rest". Do you really care?

As Gaga once said, "My fans don't care and neither do I"

We keep enjoying her music, let people be and enjoy stuff.

Period.

Agreed, but people here just don’t care for her :madge: let them be mad and annoyed while the rest keep having fun with this (like me) :lolly:

TMBT 3.22.11 // TBTWB 1.17.13 // ArtRAVE 6.3.14 // C2CT 5.28.15 // TJWT 8.13.17 // Chromatica World Tour 9.8.22

I'm sorry, but the reason that Taylor dominates the charts for months, is talked about incessantly and always makes headline news is quite simple. She's the biggest artist in the world. The Eras Tour proved that.

The very reason why she's such a dominant force when it comes to sales and charting is simply because more people buy and stream her music than anybody else's music. The reason why there's such extensive speculation about her personal life is because there's an audience there who wants to read about it. The reason why her music is all the industry talks about is because it pulls in absolutely astronomical numbers. The biggest artist in the world is going to be spoken about.

I don't see what you see as being the solution to this overexposure other than for her (a literal musician) to decline the chance the perform her own songs or to prevent people from listening to her music. Truthfully, short of her retiring completely, there's quite literally no way to prevent her from debuting at number one every single time. She's just that popular.

Nobody's forcing you to listen to her music, to buy tickets to her concerts or to watch her music videos. The world is full of things that we don't like. I hate sports, for example. But when the sports report comes on the television every single hour, I simply look away and ignore it. You can do the exact same with Taylor Swift.

I don’t think she’s ever going to have a flop era anymore. She has a really solid fanbase that has proved they’d consume whatever she releases and we saw this with the weekly digital variants. 2 years is the standard she does and does crazy numbers, if she took a 4-5 year break she’d do even bigger numbers because of the thirst of these breaks.

The popularity of the Eras Tour has truly carried Midnights and Poets when these have been Lover type of average pop albums. If she parts way with Antonoff and finally works with new people I’d be very interested to hear that music because it’s been same ish for a while now. I still think her best work were 1989 and Folklore/Evermore.

Doesn't she ever get fatigued? I remember Lana saying she felt she was all out of melodies after like 3 albums. Surely if she keeps pumping them out at this rate she will have nothing left by 40

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Wow, 12th album? That’s impressive. Very few fan bases are that lucky. That’s consistency and a hell of a work ethic… and the fact that she still has a dedicated core base who is willing to buy everything she puts out means she’s giving them exactly what they want. Everyone who’s complaining just sounds like a hater.

You said it better than I could, thank you. I know she’s everywhere, I get it. But so are a lot of artists that I don’t love, and I don’t yearn for their retirement. What do I know though.
