I took a break from my alternative 90s music, to enjoy Mayhem because Gaga hit it. I haven't played Joanne since 2017. :traumatica:

Idk, it's as simple as she didn't perform nothing from Joanne on Coachella because of the same reason she wouldn't do a Coachella type of show in a bar with a limited small forum ala - precisely - Dive Bar Tour. It doesn't mean Joanne ain't important in her catalogue, it's just another different level to it.

Not that it's the same genre, but Madonna has barely touched American Life since its release back in 2003. Does that mean that album is not a backbone in her discography?

For people that said ARTPOP, joanne and chromatica do not fit the theme

Aura, Venus

Millions reason (piano session) & John Wayne

911, Replay

The above songs definitely go well with the entire theme.

Let's just admit that Gaga wanted to not include those 3 albums 😭

I can't think of a single Joanne song that would have fit well in this setlist aside from Perfect Illusion.

Applause would probably fit well with the themes of Mayhem, but if given the choice between that song or popular songs from her first 3 albums, I will choose her first 3 albums all day any day.

911 and Replay could fit well with the Mayhem Ball, but again, I'd rather hear every Mayhem song played live instead of her performing songs from her previous tour that only happened a couple of years ago.

The Coachella setlist was an absolute banger.  It's hard for me to feel like something was missing aside from wanting to hear the rest of the songs from Mayhem live.

I don't think it's that deep actually, I just think she wanted to include most of MAYHEM and then she has to add her biggest hits for the locals and then theres no more time left

Even with that she had to shorten some songs

What a badass setlist. Coming from the Chromatica Ball she just kept Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born This Way and Shallow and completely revamped it and still got a great collection of fan favorites and gave the current album it's time to shine just like every tour. Glad to see that Gaga has the catalogue to keep it interesting.

I think the Mayhem Ball has the best chance to get something from those albums because Coachella had a very strict schedule and we barely got a piano segment. She probably wants to save a couple surprises for Tour.

(I say that as someone who thinks ARTPOP is her best and I love Joanne)

ARTPOP is my fave too! I have specific songs I love from every album but Born This Way + ARTPOP are the most "stereotypical" Gaga to me.  I love that she is able to evolve and change (and come full circle to her roots in many ways) and slay so many genres, but Abracadabra was such a comfort blanket that brought me back to that stereotypical sound I'd personally been starving for!

And that she included deep cuts that are favourites of hers and the fans.

Which deep cuts?

All the 3 albums are albums she was in bad state for. The backlash of ARTPOP, and she was depressed when recording Joanne & CHROMATICA

She is in happier state now, and probably just don't wanna touch the lowest point in her life again for now

I mean Bloody Mary used to be a deepcut before it went viral. So i still consider it a deep cut even though it blew up 10 yrs on.

But Scheiße was also a deep cut and still is.

I forgot she sang Schiebe. I think from the performance, Schiebe is the only deep cut. Bloody Mary is no longer a deep cut if the locals now know about it lol.

As much as I love Joanne, none make sense apart from John Wayne maybe and even then, it would be the wildcard in that setlist

I mean she sang s lot of lovey dovey songs, hell mayhem itself is a very in love album in a way while most of Joanne is very brake up heavy lyrically.. in the contex I'd only imagine Dancing in cicrcles or Angel down making sense in the setlist. Same for Chromatica, minus maybe Enigma and Babylon, I don't imagine other songs being there.
