RAMROD 107,167
Every Gaga fans know that Monster Ball is iconic, and her going into her pop superstardom era. It made her known as one of the greats in live music shows, that her live show is worth the money, she brings values and theatrics to her shows. Meanwhile, MAYHEM is resurgence of Gaga, her third single, ABRACADABRA, that's pure dance pop music, from the album actually blow up. And she dances so good again too! As she tells every media that she is back to feeling like herself again, and ready to regain her loses. Which could only mean her tour would most likely be her most ambitious in years. Especially with the rumor she would take a step back to get married and build a family after this era. If this is true, sshe would want to leave a HUGE impressions that can last for awhile until her return. Aaaand.., both tours also have the same abbreviation, TMB. What a coincide, right? What do you think, hennies?
vmpiregrn 586
In terms of artistry, I think that’s likely! For me, as a little kid, part of what captivated me about Gaga, and what meant so much to me, was her very aggressive, in-your-face message of self-acceptance. We all know her famous speeches at the Monster Ball and the Born This Way Ball, how emotional they all were…”You just remember that you’re a god-damn superstar and you were born this way!” We were very young and many of us very depressed and troubled and I’m sure I’m not the only one who gravitated to Gaga for her self-empowerment just as much as the music and visuals themselves. And Gaga has sort of toned down that approach in her later years — not that she still doesn’t preach self-acceptance, but it’s done in a gentler, less rebellious way, if that makes sense? So I don’t know if the Mayhem Ball will resonate *just* as much emotionally with the younger kids who see themselves in Gaga and use her music as a form of escapism. But, maybe I’m projecting in a way. Regardless it’s made me so happy to see the younger generation fall in love with her. I’m a bit hungover as I write this so I might not be making sense lol
Bonkers 28,773
I don't think so, because during the Monster Ball, Lady Gaga was BECOMING an icon. Now she IS an ICON. Mayhem is instantly big and mainstream, where as the monster ball relied on fresh fan base of isolated gays with ADHD and austism. Bronco 8,246
If the Killah performance on SNL is a taste of what to expect this era then I truly think the Mayhem Ball/Gagachella/Gagacabana are going to be truly amazing spectacles. The Killah performance, for me, was a level of uniqueness and true Gaganess that I feel like we've not seen since ARTPOPGa

Her choreography and facial expressions, how explosive it was…Gave me the same feeling her performances of Applause and Swine did. She’s so back in such a big way
