That was my worry as well. Blame Dems for now (Biden delayed Recession)... Then later remove the tarrifs, the economy recovers like 70% of the damage (but not fully) and his base will still hail him as the guy who fixed it...

 

The lack of intelligence and basic reasoning is what makes democracy so ineffective these days (and unfortunately there isnt really a better alternative to Government we know of so it would be nice if ppl educated themselves a bit so they werent so easy to manipulate)

 

I know ppl here in Canada that support Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre even tho hes all talk, promises and clearly doesnt understand the complexities of business and economocs as well as he thinks he does, he over simplifies everything

 

Meanwhile the new PM that replaced Trudeau has economics major, ran 2 Central Banks (Canada's and Englands), has experience in Private Sector in big business...

 

But when he explains his policies he goes in depth and many ppl cant follow. They follow PP cuz hes better at lying and being manipulative. And when you try to explain to his supporters they just dont get it

 

Carney will probably still win now but when we go into recession because of tarrifs at least 1/3 of his dumb followers will blame Liberals and that it was their policies that caused recession even tho Carney is already less Left than Trudeau anyway
